We encourage interested applicants to apply AND we ask all applicants to notify us at [email protected] that they have applied.

Previously, decisions have been made through a rating scale for applications. As many applicants as possible received approval based on the funding available.

This year the Trudeau Liberals are interfering with the application process. They are demanding that applicants sign an ‘attestation’ that supports speci c values chosen by the federal Liberals.

If an applicant is unable to sign this in good conscience we suggest that they write on the application (near the attestation) ‘We fully support the rights found in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms’ and send in We Wish you a their application.

It is critical that you inform our of ce of your application and your inability to sign the attestation. We will work to make changes to ensure no student in Cypress Hills-Grasslands is punished because of the Liberal ‘values declaration’ that is being forced on applicants to the Canada Summer Jobs Program. SCC Student of the Month The School Community Council has developed an initiative aimed at motivating and increasing connections with students. The Student of the Month will be given out to one student in grades 9, 10, 11 and 12. Students are nominated by their teachers to the SCC, and from those nominated students a random selection process is used by the SCC to determine the recipient of the award. Each month a different department in the school will be nominating students. This month it was Practical and Applied Arts. Each Student of the Month will receive a $10 coupon from the SCCHS Cafeteria, sponsored by the SCC. There will be no Grade 9 nominations for this month as Grade 9’s have a 9 day rotation in each of the PAA strands.
