Out of nowhere, the iconic Atlanta artist announced that he would be releasing his new album in a matter of days, revealing a Friday drop date for So Much Fun. At this point, we know to expect the unexpected from Thugger. When you think you’ve got him pinned down, he comes through with a “yeehaw” moment and shocks the world. So far, we’ve heard one single from the upcoming body of work, featuring J. Cole and Travis Scott on “The London.” Without a tracklist, we don’t quite know what we’re in for but the sheer number of artists reposting Thug’s beautiful cover art on their socials could mean that a lot of features are on the way. One man that has started teasing his own song on the joint is Drake, who recently uploaded a boomerang video of himself with his diamonds dancing all over the place, captioning the shot with the title of Thug’s new album. Young Thug has announced that his next album, So Much Fun, will be out 8/16, on his 28th birthday. That’s next week! And he’s also shared the cover artwork, which is an aerial shot of dozens of tiny Young Thugs forming an image of his own face with the title mowed into the grass on the side. Young Thug shared So Much Fun’s lead single “The London,” which features Travis Scott and J. Cole, back in May. J. Cole is reportedly executive producing the entire album, which will be Young Thug’s first full-length since 2017. Young Thug is heading out on tour with Machine Gun Kelly in the fall. He’s also reportedly working with Future, Lil Baby, and Gunna on Super Slimey 2, a sequel to his 2017 collaborative mixtape with Future. So Much Fun. Earlier this week he revealed that his next album, presumably PUNK, would be dropping in February of next year. Just yesterday, Thugger took to his socials to reveal that a deluxe version of his critically-acclaimed album would be dropping this week, which would include two mystery features as well as the recently-released remix of “Hot” featuring Travis Scott and Gunna. Now the Atlantan has released the version in its entirety. Click Here To Download Free Album :>> Young Thug – So Much Fun (Deluxe) Album. Visual Metaphors on Album Covers: An Analysis into Graphic Design’s Effectiveness at Conveying Music Genres by Vivian Le A THESIS submitted to Oregon State University Honors College in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Honors Baccalaureate of Science in Accounting and Business Information Systems (Honors Scholar) Presented May 29, 2020 Commencement June 2020 AN ABSTRACT OF THE THESIS OF Vivian Le for the degree of Honors Baccalaureate of Science in Accounting and Business Information Systems presented on May 29, 2020. Title: Visual Metaphors on Album Covers: An Analysis into Graphic Design’s Effectiveness at Conveying Music Genres. Abstract approved:_____________________________________________________ Ryann Reynolds-McIlnay The rise of digital streaming has largely impacted the way the average listener consumes music. Consequentially, while the role of album art has evolved to meet the changes in music technology, it is hard to measure the effect of digital streaming on modern album art. This research seeks to determine whether or not graphic design still plays a role in marketing information about the music, such as its genre, to the consumer. It does so through two studies: 1. A computer visual analysis that measures color dominance of an image, and 2. A mixed-design lab experiment with volunteer participants who attempt to assess the genre of a given album. Findings from the first study show that color scheme models created from album samples cannot be used to predict the genre of an album. Further findings from the second theory show that consumers pay a significant amount of attention to album covers, enough to be able to correctly assess the genre of an album most of the time.

  • Fresh Off the Most Successful Album of His Prolific Career, I'm Comin' Over
Fresh off the most successful album of his prolific career, I’m Comin’ Over, which earned him a #1 debut and numerous industry accolades, Chris Young says he kept getting asked the same question about his hotly anticipated follow up: “Are you feeling the pressure?” But in truth, he wasn’t. Back in the co-producer’s chair with Corey Crowder for the second time (third if you count the 2016 holiday classic, It Must Be Christmas), Young felt completely at ease working on his seventh studio album, Losing Sleep. “I would argue there was less pressure,” says the star, who was just inducted as the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry. “We were even more comfortable than we were last time, and instead of it being like ‘We have to nail this,’ now it was like ‘OK, we did something really cool last time. Let’s try and build on that.’” Young is no stranger to building on success. Over his nearly 12 years with RCA Nashville, he’s steadily taken on more and more responsibility with each project, writing a few more songs each time, staying immersed in his craft and eventually taking the reins completely. With his last project, I’m Comin’ Over, the Tennessee native funneled his wide range of influences into a sound that miXed reverence for country’s past with a sense of eXcitement about its future – and it connected with fans like never before. “I’m Comin’ Over,” “Think of You” (featuring Cassadee Pope), and “Sober Saturday Night” (featuring Vince Gill) all reached the top of the country radio charts, while the first two singles from the project have both earned Platinum-record status.

  • Thesis Writing Deliverables (Pdf)
DEFENSE SPEECH Discovering and listening to music has always been my biggest passion in life and my primary way of coping with my emotions. I think its main appeal to me since childhood has been the comfort it brings in knowing that at some point in time, another human felt the same thing as me and was able to survive and express it by making something beautiful. For my project, I recorded a 9 track album called Strange Machines while I was on leave of absence last year. This term, I created a 20 minute extended music video to accompany it. All of this lives on a page I coded on my personal website with some fun bonus content that I’ll scroll through at the end of this presentation. I’ll put the link in the comments so anyone who’s interested can check it out at their own pace. I have so much fun making music and feel proud when I have a cohesive finished product at the end. I’m not interested in becoming a virtuoso musician or a professional producer. A lot of trained musicians gatekeep, intimidate, and discourage amateurs. People mystify and mythologize the creative process as if it’s the product of some elusive, innate genius rather than practice, experimentation, and a simple love of music. As someone who’s work exists entirely as digital recordings, there’s no inherent reason for me to be an amazing guitar player who can play a song perfectly all the way through, as mistakes can be easily cut out and re-recorded.

While Gordon tries to tell him that the moon is not a cookie, he decides to just let CM find out and learn this on his own. Since Slimey has been to the moon before and Gabi is saying a nursery rhyme about the cow who jumped over the moon, CM asks them if the moon is a cookie. They don't know since they've never tasted the moon before. CM is still left wondering how he could get to the moon and find out if it is a cookie. Finally, Gordon enters with former astronaut, Buzz Aldrin, who explains to CM that the moon is made out of rock and while it is not a cookie, it is still a beautiful and exciting place that we could always look up at from the Earth. In the end, CM realizes that the moon is not a cookie and that he wouldn't even want to eat the moon since then, it wouldn't be there to shine down on the Earth anymore.

Popular Music (2020) Volume 39/2. © The Author(s), 2020. Published by Cambridge University Press, pp. 208–232 10.1017/S026114302000015X ‘Every time I dress myself, it go motherfuckin’ viral’: Post-verbal flows and memetic hype in Young Thug’s mumble rap MICHAEL WAUGH Newcastle University, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, UK Abstract Hip-hop studies have historically centred on issues of the ‘street’ or virtuosic lyricism and flow, fore- grounded as evidence of the ‘seriousness’ of the genre. While these have undoubtedly been valuable theoretical approaches, the prominence of social networking in the 2010s (with its vast implications for communication and identity politics) has sculpted a generation of rappers whose vocal style and self-representation disintegrate prior assumptions about hip-hop identity. These artists, who have flourished in tandem with the rise of streaming services, have been disparagingly dubbed ‘mumble rap’ by traditionalists owing to the apparent indecipherability of their vocals and a lack of emphasis on observational or poetic lyricism. In this article I argue that this myopic label undervalues the groundbreakingly post-verbal nature of the music being created by these rappers, and highlights the innovations of mumble rap, exploring the centrality of social media, memes and streaming to its existence while critically examining its protagonists’ unconventionally stylised vocals. After ana- lysing the impact of streaming, information overload and audience participation (through social media hype and memes) on contemporary hip-hop, I survey the growth of melodic Auto-Tuned vocals and repetitive lyricism in the work of pioneering mumble rappers such as Future, before turn- ing to an extended examination of Atlanta’s Young Thug, whose controversially malleable vocal style, which prioritises experimentation with vocal textures while confounding the rules of hip-hop flow, is mirrored by his impulsive exploitation of social media and androgynous fashion sense, establishing him as the most revolutionary archetype of so-called mumble rap.
