Albert Hockey, Peter’s step-grandfather, started the family’s golfing practice by remodelling his first course in 1920. Peter’s father designed his first course in 1929 and pursued an illustrious career until his retirement in the mid 80’s.

Harradine Golf has designed, constructed, remodelled and supervised the construction of more than 200 golf course projects in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. These courses are situated in every type of terrain, from arid, rocky, dry, hot and saline deserts, to wet, humid, temperate and cold grasslands, wetlands, swamps, mountains, waste tips, agricultural fields, coastal regions and altitudes of 1,850 metres. Many Harradine Golf courses have won numerous awards and host yearly PGA tournaments. Harradine Golf always find sustainable ecological solutions and create courses for golfers, not unplayable monuments to ecology. The integration of a golf course within a site is like a heart transplant – the site must not reject it.

Harradine Golf were involved and are active in Albania, Austria, Bulgaria, Egypt, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, India, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sudan, Switzerland, Tunisia and United Arab Emirates.

Harradine Golf Page 4 of 62 February 2021 Since 1929 Philosophy / Concept

The “Harradine” concept relies on the natural preservation and integration of the existing topography and environment. The particular features of each site are improved or enhanced in order to create a unique course for that particular location and not just a copy of one of their courses built elsewhere.

The “Harradine” design philosophy seeks to deliver courses that are a challenge to good players whilst avoiding unnecessary hazards and frustrations to the less experienced golfer who could actually abandon the game or choose a less demanding course. “Harradine Golf” is extremely aware of this problem and the layouts incorporate several techniques to overcome this delicate situation. Golf should be enjoyable and not a drudgery!

“Harradine Golf” does not want to imitate Arizona in Switzerland or Scotland in Italy! Each course should be a local, distinct and unique experience.

The “Harradine Golf” “signature” lies in the fact that each and every individual site has a direct influence on their designs dictated by the parameters of the game and sustainable constraints imposed by ecological, environmental, administrative and ecological restrictions.

“Harradine Golf” never forgets that their best friend is the greenkeeper. This very important man will either “make” or “break” any course! “Harradine” golf courses are therefore designed to be as “maintenance friendly” as possible without unnecessary and unwarranted complications.

Harradine Golf Page 5 of 62 February 2021 Since 1929 Peter Harradine

Peter is the Principal and Senior Architect of “Harradine Golf” with overall responsibility for the design and construction supervision of all “Harradine Golf” projects.

Born in 1945 next to the old golf course in Gurten (Berne, Switzerland), Peter continues the family’s golfing tradition. Peter’s contact with golf course construction started as a very young boy. His father drafted him to work on his projects during the school holidays which provided an obligatory, early and somewhat discontented experience with mud, rain, heat, freezing temperatures, rubber boots, rocks, clay, drainage, target dates, broken down machinery and all the other niceties of construction sites.

Playing golf was compulsory in the family and he received his first set of clubs at the age of six. A little practice and many rounds could not improve a handicap of 5. Frequent travel caused by his own insistence for personal supervision of the scattered sites, coupled with recurring and severe back problems followed by an operation has relegated him to a spectator who encourages his sons and his design team to play this fantastic, but oh so frustrating game!

In 1965-1966 Peter went to the U.S.A to study the theoretical and practical aspects of landscaping and golf course design and construction. Upon returning to Europe, he built and designed many courses with his father and other prominent European Architects of the time.

Harradine Golf Page 6 of 62 February 2021 Since 1929

A visit to the United Arab Emirates in 1976 to investigate the possibilities of a golf course led to the subsequent establishment of the Dubai office in 1989.

Peter has personally designed and co-designed over 160 golf courses in Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

Peter is a former President of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects and the European Society of Golf Course Architects.

Harradine Golf Page 7 of 62 February 2021 Since 1929 Services

Ecology Research, co-operation and investigations with the concerned authorities, administrations and associations in order to design projects that fully comply with local and national ecological and environmental conditions and requirements.

Ecological and environmental organizations are involved in the definition of “no-go” areas within and adjacent to each site before we start the preliminary designs. Initial discussions with all concerned parties allow the team to find solutions that will facilitate the release of building permits.

If the golf course infringes on valuable ecological areas, we try to move the offending fairway, tee or green or find other compensating solutions such as the creation of new ecological zones and areas that can be colonized by indigenous flora and fauna.

Zoning Plans Integrated zoning plans, including the routing of the golf course(s), positioning, locations and surfaces for the club house(s), hotel(s), primary, secondary and tertiary real estate, roads, car parks and other eventual sports facilities.

Harradine Golf Page 10 of 62 February 2021 Since 1929 Golf Gerre Losone, Switzerland Former venue of the “Deutsche Bank” ELPGA’ Swiss Open * Voted Swiss Golf “Course of the Year 2014” (Schweiz ganz natürlich, 2015) * Voted by the players as their Favorite Course on LPGA European Tour (Survey by Golf365, 2009)

Losone is the youngest of the three “Ticinesi” courses and was designed for the “Patriziato” of Losone. Construction started in 1999 and the 18 holes were opened on the 8th of September 2001.

The course is artificially and gently ondulated and is crossed byan artificial stream which feeds three artificial lakes. The large rocks and stones lining the stream and lakes are typical to that particular part of the world and give the course a unique, impressive and original touch. All the rocks and stones were extracted from the sub-soil during construction.

Losone is a “Technical” course with fast greens and a good finishing hole for the spectators as it ends right in front of the club house terrace.

Losone is often described as one of the most beautiful courses in Switzerland.

Harradine Golf Page 11 of 62 February 2021 Since 1929 Golfpark Gut Häusern, Germany former venue of the “UniCredit” ELPGA German Open

A fully new dimension of golf close to Munich!

The special combination of the three elements: water, sand and woods give the 18 holes championship course a very particular charisma.

The Par 74/72 course with a length of 6705 meters and six tee positions is a challenge for both sportive golfers and experienced beginners.

Peter Harradine: “With the Golfpark Gut Häusern I was finally allowed to design a golf course, with enough room!”.

Harradine Golf Page 12 of 62 February 2021 Since 1929 Golf Club Bad Ragaz, Switzerland Venue of the “Credit Suisse” PGA Seniors Open * “Swiss Golf Resort of the Year 2009” and “Swiss Golf Course of the Year 2009” (Swiss Golf)

The 18-hole Championship Course home to the “Gentlemen’s Tour”, as the PGA Seniors Tour is affectionately known, offers everything that golf enthusiasts could possibly desire. Beginners and professionals alike find here, a very special challenge.

Credit Suisse has been the sponsor of this prestigious event ever since the tournament was first held in 1997, and yearly attracts world-class golfers and crowds of visitors to the foothills of the Alps.

The 5700 m long symbiosis of golf and the natural world – slope 125, course rating 70.1 – was laid out by Don Harradine in 1957 as a flat golf course which combines the beauties of nature for all types of play. Many a golfing ace succumbs to the special charm of this course, with its exceptional standard of care, the unspoiled park setting with firs, birches and pines, the natural water hazards and the impressive mountain backdrop.

The Harradine family has been involved in the design, construction and renovation of three different courses in Bad Ragaz over 3 generations and over a period of 83 years.

Albert Hockey, the step-father of Donald Harradine left London with his brood in 1925 and arrived in Bad Ragaz to up-grade the old 9 hole course whilst he pursued his other duties as Club Manager and Golf professional.

Donald Harradine re-modeled the same layout in 1929 and built the existing 18 hole course in 1956 which he co-designed with Fred Hawtree.

Peter Harradine designed and supervised the construction of the “Heidiland” course which is a 9 hole “Resort” layout adjacent to the existing 18 hole course built by his father.

Harradine Golf Page 13 of 62 February 2021 Since 1929 Pravets Golf & Country Club, Bulgaria Venue of the PGA Professional Championship of Europe since 2011

Pravets Golf & SPA Resort is located just 50 km away from Sofia - easily accessible with a 45 minute drive on the Hemus highway, yet distant enough from the daily stress of the big city.

Pravets Golf Club, managed by Braemar Golf based at St.Andrews in Scotland, offers a Peter Harradine designed 18-hole, par 72, Championship golf course and a State-Of-The-Art golf academy with an extensive practice area. This parkland - style golf course boasts spectacular views of the local mountains and lake, framed by the impressive RIU Pravets Resort hotel. The par-three eighth hole is the signature hole with its challenging island green. The 9th and the 18th greens are joined in one double green, a well-known feature from the Old Course in St Andrews. The driving range offers a unique experience with its special lighting for dawn or night golfing.

The proximity of Pravets Sports Complex (multi-functional sports hall,2 football pitches, 4 basketball and volleyball and 3 tennis courts) offers extensive opportunities for training and coaching of teams and individual athletes.

The surrounding countryside with beautiful lawns and mild hills provide excellent opportunities for riding, hunting, cycling and hiking.

Ever since 1998, the Club has hosted the prestigious Qatar Masters tournament, sponsored by Commercialbank and held in January as part of the European and Asian PGA tours schedule.

Each year many of the world’s top golfers compete on the Club’s unique and challenging desert-type Championship Course measuring 7,374 yards from the tournament tees.

Often described by the press and the players as the best course on the European PGA tour the Doha Golf Course is undoubtedly the best course in the Middle East.

Lush fairways, greens and water hazards dominate an area which 16 years ago was a barren desert landscape. To complete the transformation from desert to golf course 1 300 palm trees, 10 000 trees and 5 000 shrubs were planted together with 65 cacti imported from the Arizona desert. Seven artificial salt-water and one sweet - water lake ensures that the 50 hectares of manicured fairways and superb greens are maintained to a standard that has won unanimous praise from both PGA European and players and officials.

An oasis of tranquility carved out of the desert, the Abu Dhabi Golf Club is managed by Troon Golf and offers one of the most luxurious golf resort experiences in the Middle East.

The 18 hole championship course, home to the PGA European Tour Abu Dhabi Golf Championship, the largest and most prestigious sporting event in the United Arab Emirates provides a tough but fair challenge, with lush fairways, strategically placed bunkers and generous greens.

Described as a “Super course” by leading sections of the golfing press, the 70 hectares feature one of the finest world-class 18-hole championship golfing facility in the Middle East.

The course was designed in 1989 and certain modifications were initiated, because of the incredible improvements in the playing equipment since that time. The course has been lengthened to 7,590 yards to host the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship.

Harradine Golf tried to ensure that the alterations and additions reflected the style and vision of the original layout, thus ensuring that the integrity and concept of the original design were mostly preserved.

Harradine Golf Page 16 of 62 February 2021 Since 1929 Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club, United Arab Emirates Venue of the 2017 Sharjah Senior Golf Masters

This challenging 9-hole golf course was open for play in 2007 and is the first fully-grassed golf course in Sharjah. It boasts world class academy/training facilities with a floodlit driving range, short game area and practice green. The golf course is also fully floodlit golf which enables play well into the evening. Built around a stunning club house facility, when played twice, this wall to wall grass oasis becomes a challenging par-72 layout that stretches in excess of 7,300 yards.

Described as a pleasure to play but a challenge to score, the course features between 5 and 7 different tee locations on every hole, creating a variety of different course setup opportunities to vary the length and strategy of each hole, especially evident when playing it as an 18-hole course. A par-5 for example, could play 500 yards long on the first loop and then play over 600 yards the second time around.

The course, with its vast water features, large and challenging bunkers and unique undulations, ensure that this golfing paradise offers a fair but tough test to every level of golfer and one you will relish time and time again.

Harradine Golf Page 17 of 62 February 2021 Since 1929 Al Hamra Golf Club, United Arab Emirates Venue of the European Ras Al Khaimah Golf Challenge

This first class facility is located within the Al Hamra Village development in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, and comprises a par 72, 7,300 yard Championship standard golf course, a par 3 Academy course, driving range and swing studios.

The “Harradine Golf” brief included the complete master plan with the golf course, design of the lagoon and positioning of the real estate and club house.

Holes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6,7,17 and 18, the driving range and the academy course were opened in April 2007. This loop is completely floodlit. Holes 8 to 16 were opened in April 2008. Chris White, the former golf director commented “the golfers response to the back nine opening has been phenomenal – players really are bluffed into a false sense of security on the first 7 holes until they reached the treacherous combination of 8,9,10,11 and 12 – three of these holes are beautifully shaped around one of the open lagoons and require both length and accuracy.

Harradine Golf Page 18 of 62 February 2021 Since 1929 Jebel Ali Golf Resort, United Arab Emirates former venue of the EPGA Omega Desert Classic Challenge Match * Voted the Middle East’s Leading Golf Resort and Dubai’s Leading Golf Resort (2007 and 2008)

The 9-hole, par 36, championship standard resort course is situated within the idyllic grounds of the resort. Designed by Peter Harradine and opened in 1998, the Dubai hotel golf course has hosted the world’s best players as part of the official curtain raiser to the European PGA Tour event, the Dubai Desert Classic.

Each hole is uniquely landscaped with exotic trees, shrubs and original desert flora and the Dubai hotel golf course also features a saltwater lake which comes into play on five holes. The wooden gazebos, views of the Arabian Gulf and peacocks and deer which freely roam the fairways have added a special charm to this course that is a fair and exciting challenge for golfers of all abilities.

Playing Jebel Ali gives a real sense of being on holiday!

From 1998 to 2006, Jebel Ali Golf Resort proudly played host to the annual Challenge Match and the nine-hole course has seen golfing legends such as Tiger Woods, Ernie Els, Mark O’Meara, Nick Faldo, Colin Montgomerie and many more.

Harradine Golf Page 19 of 62 February 2021 Since 1929 Mirage City Golf Club, Egypt Former Venue of the PGA Egyptian Open * MENA Platinum Award for the Best Golf Club in the Middle East and Africa and rated the num- ber one Golf Course in Egypt

A unique course carved from the desert landscape.

Golfers playing Mirage City will find themselves navigating a series of ponds, lakes and streams that offer constant choice and challenge. With careful placement of tee boxes, the course suits both the beginner and the touring professional.

Signature holes at Mirage City Golf Club include:

* Hole 8 at 578 yards and a par 5 requires you to contend with a large fairway bunker on the left side as well as water the entire stretch of the right, and then the final approach shot needs to navigate a large lake. Eagles and birdies are common, and intelligence and strategy are key to playing this hole.

* Hole 12 measures a little more than 150 yards downhill and over water. A large rock wall surrounds the back of the hole and its blooming color is a sight of sheer beauty.

* Hole 18 measures 416 yards, with a tough second shot uphill to an elevated green guarded by the winding creek.

New to Mirage City Golf Club is the 9 hole, par 32 course, first of its kind in Egypt and offering a dramatic challenge to anyone willing to test their skills.
