Chuck Cariker Mayor Chuck Cariker town of Tunica

I respectfully request your support for the position of 2nd Vice President of the Mississippi Municipal League. I am in my third term as Mayor of the Town of Tunica, served one term as Alderman and have been a member of the Tunica Volunteer Fire Department for 25 years. I served in the United States Navy during Operation Desert Storm, Desert Shield. I tell you this to let you know that serving my country, my community and others is nothing new to me. Should I be elected as your 2nd Vice President, I will serve and work for you in Jackson and in any other areas I can be of service. I know how to deal with the tough situations that all municipalities face. No matter the size of your city we have the same battles; more tunica responsibilities and less funding for obligations. During my term as Mayor of Tunica we have experienced a roller coaster ride from the flooding in 2011 to opening of new industry in the county. I know how to work with the leaders in Jackson to make compromise work for the betterment of everyone. As your 2nd Vice President I will take your agenda forward, not mine. commitment to my family and my community; you as MML MML’s education program is second to none. I have been a Master Mason for 44 years, and I am also a 32nd Degree Mason. I have worked as a machinist and in the commercial building field for over 30 years. I was elected Alderman in Farmington in 2001 and mayor in 2005. My involvement with the Mississippi Municipal League includes being farmington on the Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Legislative Committee, Conference Planning Committee, Small Town Conference Committee Chairman as well as Co-Chair and then Chairman of the North Mississippi Mayors Association.
