Attendance since September : 96.39% A message from Mr Pendlebury A very warm welcome back to everyone, especially our new parents who have joined us at Cubitt Town Junior school for the very first time. We are excited about this year and all the wonderful events we have planned. The beginning of the year sees us reducing the paper we use and reducing our carbon footprint. We will now be e-mailing important notes and newsletters to you so please check your e-mails regularly. Clubs have all begun now and it is great to see many children taking part. Remember breakfast club begins at 8 o’clock as this is when our staff are on site. Please do not drop your child(ren) off earlier than 8:00am. Sadly, our lost property bin is already full. Coats, jumpers, t-shirts, PE kits, swimming kits and lunchboxes are left daily but because the items of clothing do not have a name in them, we are unable to locate their owners. It is important to label your child’s clothing and bags clearly so we can return them. Feel free to look in the box if your child has lost something (it is located undercover in the playground). As the weather begins to get colder, please remember to dress your child warmly. Bring a coat (clearly labelled with their name), as the children will be playing in the playground during break and lunchtimes if the weather is dry. Harvest It is that time of the year where we all dig deep to help others who are in need. Please donate some non-perishable food or toiletries to school to help replenish the stocks for the Foodbank. All of your donations help local families on the Isle of Dogs. The most needed items: Long life Milk Long life Juice/ Cordial/Squash Tinned Fruit Tinned Vegetables Cooking Sauce e.g. curry Pasta e.g. Bolognese Tinned Spaghetti Hoops/Beans Custard, Rice Pudding Shampoo, Shower Gel INTERNET SAFETY Some tips for you as parents about Internet Safety. Be it rocks, the digestive system, material properties or circuits, everyone is getting stuck into science! So far we have classified, predicted, undertaken fair tests, observed and concluded using all the fantastic resources we have here at CTJS. And let’s not forget Mr Robertson’s Storytime Ramble where you can relax to readings of Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events. The children have been incredible with writing and recording their shows and we can’t wait to see what is produced over the rest of the year! If you miss any of the shows, then fear not! You can just download them all at our radio web player. Just look for the CTJS Radio link on the school website! https://www.schoolradio.com/users/cubitt-town-school/player Calling all Mums, Dads & Carers Do you have any old or unwanted Coats? • Isle of Dogs Neighbourhood Planning Area
Isle of Dogs Neighbourhood Planning Area - Options appraisal related to the area boundaries This analysis explains why the Isle of Dogs Neighbourhood Planning Forum has chosen the area that it has. That area was drawn together based on a consultation and discussion with residents and was unanimously approved in a public vote in November 2014. This analysis for the sake of clarity and simplicity will be broken down into the following areas to explain why they are or are not in the Isle of Dogs Neighbourhood Planning Area (referred to as the Area from now on); 1. Northern Canary Wharf 2. Canary Wharf Estate 3. Wood Wharf 4. Billingsgate Fish Market 5. Blackwall 6. Blackwall business estate 7. The old Isle of Dogs – south of South Quay, Westferry Circus and the Blue Bridge There is then a discussion of; Site allocations Political boundaries Physical boundaries Community connections Boundaries used by other organisations National Planning Policy Guidance Note on Neighbourhood Planning Northern Canary Wharf – Garford Street, North Quay, Hertsmere Road West, Canary Riverside Has been included for the following reasons; At the request of residents Because it is part of the Canary Wharf political ward The area is within the hard boundaries of the Area The area is predominately residential with two hotels, a number of restaurants/bars, Docklands Museum, cinema, two gyms and the Canon Workshops The area lacks the scale to be an Area on its own but neatly connects the wider Area with the proposed Limehouse Neighbourhood Planning Forum area. With the exception of North Quay and Hertsmere House it is a fully developed area.
