    PRESS RELEASE Collaboration between AGF and YouTube provides new evidence of the relevance of video in the German media landscape Frankfurt/Hamburg, Mar. 6th, 2019 — For the first time, the AGF Videoforschung (AGF) and YouTube published the results of their cooperation. Their collaboration started more than three years ago. The aim of this cooperation is to map the additional use of video through other platforms within the framework of the AGF convergence standard. The results for the observation period show that — with an average daily viewing time of 267 minutes for persons 18 years and older — the relevance of video in Germany is unbroken! During the study period, traditional linear TV usage averaged 232 minutes per day. Plus 35 minutes of streaming usage, mostly through mobile devices (60%). "It is a remarkable milestone for AGF's video research to have reached the current level together with YouTube. Everyone involved knows that we need to work continuously on this internationally unique project to best reflect the differentiated use of the platform in this dynamically changing technological environment. AGF's goal is to identify YouTube as a reliable, transparent partner in the AGF system, in line with the common market standard", said AGF Managing Director Kerstin Niederauer-Kopf. Dirk Bruns, Head of Video Sales, Google Germany: "We are very proud to be able to present the first results together with AGF Videoforschung and hope that industry representatives from other countries will follow the example of AGF. CC BY-NC-ND 3.0 Permanent link to this version: http://urn.kb.se/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:se:sh:diva-7916 Exploring Media and Ethnic Diversity in Sweden and Germany Gunilla Hultén & Heike Graf The way media are organized in both Sweden and Germany falls under the category of democratic corporatist, according to Hallin and Mancini (2004). The publishing sector is an important part of the democratic corporatist model, and both countries have high levels of newspaper readership with Sweden’s being one of the highest in the world. There is a competitive market for print media, but despite this the market is – especially in Sweden – regulated by different measures such as press subsidies. The Swedish and the German media systems are also ‘duopolies’, where public service broadcasters coexist alongside commercially funded companies, with the public service broadcasters still remaining comparatively strong. Both countries also have a high level of journalistic professionalization, including the sharing of professional standards and a tradition of public-sector involvement in the media landscape (Hallin & Mancini 2004: 145).     D I S T R I B U T I O N P L A N S from 2017 onwards as amended by the Board on 15/11/2016, and as resolved by the Assembly of Shareholders and Delegates1 on 21/06/2017, 07/12/2017, 20/06/2018, 20/11/2018, 18/06/2019, 16/06/2020, 13/11/2020 and 22 /06/2021 I. GENERAL 1. As long as individual shares can be established with adequate means, each rights holder shall receive their share relating to the usage of his contribution to a performance from the amount collected after deduction of the effective costs and any allocations for cultural and social purposes. 2. In cases where the individual usage share of the collected amount cannot be established with adequate means, general evaluation and distribution rules for a general approach to this method of measuring the relevant share shall be established. The scope of the usage, the cultural or artistic significance of each rights holder’s performance shall be considered adequately. Minimum thresholds for collecting usage data and setting pay-out levels to rights holders shall be permissible. 3. Any rights holders’ remuneration entitlements, their exploitation rights or other rights assigned to GVL shall be governed by the distribution plans, even if the agreement between the rights holder and the user includes deviating provisions. 4. The distribution includes: a) remuneration collected for the respective financial year . for broadcasts of commercially published sound recordings2 and video clips, . for public performance and reproduction/copying, . for rental and lending of commercially published sound recordings and films, .

    EMEX BRIEF / RBB Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (RBB)- the German public broadcaster for the federal states of Berlin and Brandenburg RBB produces and broadcasts one television channel and six radio stations, in addition to providing a range of interactive multimedia services including websites, mobile apps, HbbTV-based connected TV services and also produces content for social media channels. As part of the ARD (Association of Public Service Broadcasting Corporations in Germany), we contribute to various nationwide TV and radio channels and multimedia services. RBB needs RBB is looking for new input for interactive, future-oriented live TV formats. Consider the following challenges: 1) Development of or change in audience’s response to a controversial. How can we present different arguments within a show? How can a collective response, such as an agreement or disagreement on a particular topic, be represented? 2) Linear and non-linear content switching and interaction. The format begins on TV, continues or provides additional content as live-stream, then resumes on TV, etc. How can we orchestrate this interaction and switching of content and usage to ensure an enjoyable, entertaining user experience? 3) Interactive quiz. How can the audience, whether at home in front of the television or at the computer via livestream, participate in the events in the television studio? How can they comment, vote, influence, interact with the programme? Example from rbb Fernsehen Berlin-Brandenburg quiz „Every answer counts”. A resident of Berlin and a resident of Brandenburg play against each other, demonstrating their knowledge of the region. There are two rounds of six questions each, and both participants are supported by a local celebrity.
