The York Region District School Board welcomes the use of volunteers in all schools. Volun- teers, when used effectively, provide a valuable service to students and schools in support of student achievement and well-being. They are education partners that can increase positive communication between the school, parents and the community. Trustee: Corrie McBain Just a reminder that ALL volunteers in our school must have obtained a Vulnerable Sector (905) 727-0022 Screening from York Region Police (Police Check) PRIOR to volunteering, and MUST produce this to the office, where we will retain a copy. Every September you will be asked to sign a Superintendent: Rita Russo volunteer annual offence declaration stating you have had no convictions since your last police (905) 884-4477 check. Thank you, for your continued cooperation in keeping our students safe. Page 2 Lake Views--October 2017 EQAO Results 2016-2017 In the spring of 2017, our grade 3 and 6 students participated in the Education Quality and Accountabil- ity Office (EQAO) standardized test. This provincial assessment provides a snapshot of our grade 3 & 6 students’ achievement in relation to the provincial standard. Students meeting or exceeding the standard (Level 3 & 4), have demonstrated most or all of the re- quired reading, writing and mathematics knowledge and skills expected at this stage in their education. Outlined are the results for our school. Over the next several weeks we will analyze the EQAO results along with several other sources of data to plan effective instruction with the goal of increasing student achievement.
