(040) 853 88 888 ∙ www.fkpscorpio.com PRESSEMITTEILUNG 27.04.2021 Exklusives Deutschlandkonzert der Foo Fighters wird in den Sommer 2022 von der Waldbühne auf den Flughafen Tempelhof verlegt Aufgrund der aktuellen Situation verlegen die Foo Fighters ihr exklusives Konzert in Berlin in den Sommer 2022. Die einzige Show hierzulande, welche ursprünglich für den Juni 2020 in der Berliner Waldbühne geplant war und bereits in den Juni dieses Jahres verschoben wurde, findet nun Anfang Juni nächsten Jahres auf dem Flughafen Tempelhof statt. Nachdem das Konzert in der Waldbühne innerhalb von ein paar Stunden ausverkauft war, wird die Show im Rahmen der zeitlichen Verlegung nun auch räumlich auf das größere Gelände des Flughafen Tempelhof verlegt. Somit sind ab sofort wieder Tickets verfügbar. Waldbühnen-Tickets behalten natürlich ihre Gültigkeit. Zudem sind Greta van Fleet und The Pretty Reckless als Special Guests mit dabei. Seit einem Vierteljahrhundert gelten die Foo Fighters als ein Phänomen der Indie- Rockszene. Seitdem stürmen die Musiker aus Seattle mit ihren eingängigen Rocksongs nicht nur die internationalen Charts, sondern vielmehr auch die größten Konzertbühnen. Live sind die Foo Fighters eine der höchst geschätzten Bands überhaupt, ihre Konzerte fast immer ausverkauft. Man denke nur an die Tour, die Dave Grohl mit gebrochenem Bein im Thron sitzend absolvierte. Immer unterwegs in neue Richtungen, immer offen für neue Wege und dabei immer neue Musik in der Pipeline. Jüngst veröffentlichten die Musiker um den ehemaligen Nirvana-Schlagzeuger ihr neues Studioalbum „Medicine At Midnight“. Wer sich aufgrund der aktuellen Lage nicht auf der Bühne verausgaben darf, der tut dies ganz einfach im Studio. Das neue Werk, auf welches die Band ihre Fans bereits häppchenweise im Voraus mit den Singles „Shame Shame“, „No Son Of Mine“ und „Waiting On A War“ neugierig gestimmt hat, zeigt, dass die Foo Fighters sich durch Nichts aufhalten lassen und stets weitermachen. Zudem veröffentlicht Dave Grohl am 30. April seine Dokumentation „What Drives Us“ über Amazon Prime. Der Film sei „eine Hommage an den Moment im Leben eines jeden Musikers, in dem das eigene Engagement auf die Probe gestellt wird“. Dave Grohl beschreibt die Message der Doku wie folgt: „Dieser Film ist mein Liebesbrief an jede*n Musiker*in, der*die jemals mit den Freunden in einen alten Van gesprungen ist und alles zurückgelassen hat, nur um Musik zu spielen. Was als Projekt begann, um den Schleier der DIY-Logistik zu lüften, alle Freunde und Equipment monatelang auf kleinen Raum zu stopfen, wurde schließlich zu einer Erkundung des „warum“. Was treibt uns an?“ Vermutlich ist es bei den Foo Fighters mehr als bloß die Liebe zur Musik. Dies ist nur ein Konzert von sehr vielen, die derzeit verschoben werden müssen als eine verständliche und wichtige Sicherheitsmaßnahme für die Bevölkerung und euch als Gäste. Umso mehr freuen wir uns, dass ein Ersatztermin gefunden werden konnte und das Konzert somit am 8. Juni 2021 nachgeholt werden kann. Wie viele Grammys die Foo Fighters bislang eingesammelt haben? Zwölf Stück, und fünfmal den Brit Award und sechsmal den Kerrang! Award und fünfmal den NME Award und die Liste könnte man lange weiterführen. Die entscheidende Quizfrage ist: Wie viele Auszeichnungen kommen dazu, wenn die Jungs um Dave Grohl ihr zehntes Studioalbum veröffentlichen werden? Other music fans likely know him as the guitarist, vocalist, frontman, and songwriter of the arena- filling band, Foo Fighters. Still others that have seen Grohl on the HBO series Sonic Highways or the documentary Sound City may recognize him as a music historian and film director. The truth is that Dave Grohl is all of the above. Thinking back to his childhood during an episode of the Sonic Highways series, Grohl remembers his artistic “light bulb” turning on during a family vacation to Chicago. Grohl, only twelve at the time, accompanied a cousin to a local Punk concert. It was awesome. He left the show inspired, asking himself, “why can’t I do this?” Then, he realized he could. Once home in Springfield, VA, a Beltway suburb about thirteen miles from the White House, the young Grohl tapped into D.C.’s thriving Punk scene. He befriended members of the local music community such as Ian MacKaye, a go-getter who played bass in Teen Idles, sang in Minor Threat, and later handled guitar and vocals in Fugazi, all while co-founding the Dischord Records label. In the mid and late 1980s, the major record labels, radio, and MTV--basically all the national tastemakers--were mostly focused on Glam Rock, Synth Pop, and Michael Jackson. D.C. Punk wasn’t even on their radar. But, rather than get discouraged or bitter about the lack of outside investment, many in the D.C.

How could we, as a cover band, not share our enthusiasm about his creations, collaborations and his career (so far)?! So we did it. Dave Grohl & Friends is a multimedia show featuring video and live music which is performed live by Les Enroules. It covers many bands with which Dave has played either as a constant member or as a one- shot collaborator (live or in studio). The list is endless, but the most representative ones are the Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Queens Of The Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures, Tenacious D, L7, Juliette & The Licks, Soundcity OST. Aside from the music, we will also be showing several short videos (excerpts from live shows, interviews, documentaries, etc.) where Dave and his friends share pieces of their thoughts, ideas and memories.
