The company owns and operates 89 KFC stores and oversees a further 7 independent franchisee stores. It was listed on the New Zealand stock exchange in 1997. Restaurant Brands’ Pizza Hut business was supplemented with the acquisition of 53-store Eagle Boys pizza chain in May 2000, and by a further 51 Pizza Hut stores in Victoria, Australia in March 2002. These Australian stores were divested by 2008 after they failed to meet performance thresholds. Restaurant Brands brought Starbucks Coffee to New Zealand in 1998, after securing a licensing arrangement with Starbucks Coffee International.
