Bode Museum Commissioned by Wilhelm von Bode, the Bode Museum is a new Baroque building designed by the court architect Ernst von Ihne and constructed between 1897-1904. In the centre of the main hallway stands a replica of a statue by Andreas Schlüter of the Elector Friedrich Wilhelm astride his horse. The hallway is noted for its basilica that reaches up over two floors. Full of rich exhibits the overall impression is that of the interior of a renaissance church. Kalkscheune The Kalkscheune is a unique venue right in the heart of Berlin. Eight rooms of varying sizes, capacities and ambiances are available, some of which can be used in combination. New National Gallery The New National Gallery is a "temple of glass and light“ housing European paintings and scluptures from the 20th century. The exhibition includes examples of classic modernism right through to artworks from the 1960s with works by such renowend artists as Munch, Kirchner, Picasso, Klee, Feininger, Dix and Kokoschka. Bärensaal in the historic Stadthaus Historically the Bärensaal was a hall for all kinds of public festivities. This ancient city hall (Stadthaus) that is one of the most important listed buildings in the city‘s historic centre is today home to the Senatorial Administration for Interior Affairs and Sports and the Berlin state office for protection of historical monuments. This architecturally austere and clear-cut room is not only ideal for festive events of all kinds but has also been used as a film set on many occasions and is popular for weddings. Schloss Charlottenburg Large Orangery The large orangery adjacent to the west side of the Alte Schloss was built between 1709 and 1712. Originally used to store rare plants during the cold winter months, during the summer when the 500 or so orange, lemon and bitter orange trees were adorning the Baroque gardens the orangery became a venue for courtly festivities. Ballhaus Pankow A Berlin ballroom built in 1880 that was one of the most beautiful ballrooms of its era replete with typical Berlin ballroom charm. Constructed in a half-timbered style at the end of the 19th century. Kino Kosmos In 1961 the building opened as a cinema to great acclaim. With a capacity of 1001 it was the largest, the most modern and the most popular cinema in former East Germany. In February 1998, this building so steeped in history was taken over by the UFA. The cinema was extensively renovated following strict criteria imposed on listed buildings and furnished with an underground garage.
