KDVSC Presidential Cup International Lawn Bowls Games, which firstly started in 2013, has a main purpose to promote harmony, friendship and peace through lawn bowls games. I expect this event can keep offering all of you a great sporting opportunity described as ‘One Passion, One Challenge’ in the friendly and harmonious atmosphere.

Rules and Regulations The competition will be conducted under the IBD rules and regulations. ※If necessary, the modification and adjustment of these rules and regulations can be made . Game Format - Group Qualifying Rounds(League) - Finals(Tournament) Classification No classification will be organized. All class will be combined. Equipment - No equipment control will be conducted. - Each delegation is responsible for bringing its own bowls. Awards Medals, certificates, and prize money will be awarded to the champion, the first and second runner-up of each match. Insurance All participants(bowlers, officials, etc) attending this event must ensure they have the appropriate personal, medical and travel insurance, as the event will not indemnify individual claims.

2nd KDVSC Presidential Cup International Lawn Bowls Games 3 REGISTRATION

Target Group This event is open to all bowlers belonging to their national associations or clubs. Entry Restrictions - The maximum entry per team is 9 bowlers(9 Singles, 4 Pairs) - Each team may register more than 9 bowlers through consultation with OC depending on the registration of other teams. Registration Fee - Fee : $100(US dollar) per person(bowlers, officials, etc) - This fee covers accommodation, meals, airport shuttle service, prizes, other competition operation costs during the competition period. Registration Procedures - Preliminary Entry : Teams send information about their interest in participation by number - Final Entry •Teams send information about accreditation details, team entry, room allocation, flight details, diet, athlete declaration, invoice. •Teams are required to pay 50% of registration fee($50/person) ※This registration fees are non-refundable. Exceptional circumstances will be dealt with on an individual basis. - Registration Fee Payment : 50% of registration fee($50/person) Registration Deadlines - 1st February, 2019 : Preliminary Entry - 1st April, 2019 : Final Entry & Registration Fee Payment(50%) ※The remaining payment(50%) should be made before or upon arrival. 2nd KDVSC Presidential Cup International Lawn Bowls Games 4 COMPETITION VENUE

The competition will take place at VHS Rehabilitation Sports Center. VHS Rehabilitation Sports Center, which was built in 2011 to activate a systematic rehabilitation sports for the disabled veterans and foster disabled elite athletes, is a main training center for KDVSC athletes. ※ADDRESS : 71, Gwanggysan-ro, Jangan-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, Korea

- On the 4th floor of VHS Rehabilitation Sports Center - 40m X 40m(International Standard) - Indoor(equipped with air-conditioning system) - 6 rinks available

The delegations(bowlers, officials, etc) will be accommodated at living halls of VHS Rehabilitation Sports Center and VHS Education and Research Institute.

Living Hall (VHS Rehabilitation Sports Center)

- KDVSC athletes’ village - 16 accessible rooms(4beds in each room) - 2 toilets in each room - Cool & hot water purification machine, laundry and drying machine in each floor - Situated in the same place of competition venue

Living Hall (VHS Education and Research Institute)

- 60 wheelchair friendly rooms (4beds in each room) - 1toilet in each room - 5 mins walking distance to the competition venue

2nd KDVSC Presidential Cup International Lawn Bowls Games 6 CATERING

The delegations(bowlers, officials, etc) will be provided with meals prepared respectively according to their arrival/departure time.  First Meal –Dinner on 30 June, 2019  Last Meal –Breakfast on 6 July, 2019 All meals will be served at dining hall (1st floor) of VHS Rehabilitation Sports Center except for the lunch on the day of opening ceremony, on which the lunch box will be served. Accreditation card must be presented at all times to enter the dining hall.

Specific dietary requirements should be advised to the OC by the final entry deadline. Every effort will be made to cater to your requirements, if sufficient notice is given.

2nd KDVSC Presidential Cup International Lawn Bowls Games 7 TRANSPORTATION

The official airport for the 2nd KDVSC Presidential Cup International Lawn Bowls Games is :  Incheon International Airport : 69 km travelling to VHS Rehabilitation Sports Center(1hr by bus)  GimpoInternational Airport : 61km travelling to VHS Rehabilitation Sports Center(50mins by bus)

Transfers to and from these airports, during the official competition period, will be provided according to a predetermined schedule. Each delegation is required to notify the OC of their arrival and departure details by the final entry deadline. 2 Lift buses will be operated for the shuttle bus service.

As for the transportation between accommodation and venue, since these two places are in the same building or same area, athletes and officials are expected to walk from/to their accommodations to/from venue.

Suwon is the capital and largest metropolis of Gyeonggi-do, 's most populous province which surrounds , the national capital. Suwon lies about 30 kilometers (19 miles) south of Seoul. It is traditionally known as "The City of Filial Piety". The population is close to 1.2 million. Suwon has existed in various forms throughout Korea's history, growing from a small settlement to become a major industrial and cultural center. It is the only remaining completely walled city in South Korea. The city walls are one of the more popular tourist destinations in GyeonggiProvince. Samsung Electronics R&D center and headquarters are based in Suwon. The city is served by two motorways, the national railway network, and the Seoul Metropolitan Subway. Suwon is a major educational center, home to 11 universities. Climate

This event is organized by Korea Disabled Veterans Sports Council(KDVSC), a rehabilitation sports specialized agency of Korea Disabled Veterans Organization(KDVO). The mission and objectives of KDVSC are as below:

To develop sporting opportunities for disabled veterans to inspire their rehabilitation will and enjoy a better quality life To contribute to the development of sports for the disabled by promoting excellent athletes and supporting affiliated federations To promote international sports exchange for the enhancement of national prestige and the contribution to international friendships and world peace

KDVSC, member of International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation(IWAS), sent a delegation to the 14th ISMG in 1965, which is the Korea’s first participation in the international sporting event for the disabled and held Korea’s first multi sports event for the disabled in 1967. KDVSC has played an important and crucial role as a founder of Paralympic movement in Korea.
