As always, Southern Division is delighted to have so many visitors from Grand Lodge and our sister Divisions attend- ing our AGM. is year, of course, we are also fortunate enough to have a visitor from America, RW Bro Tom Jackson. To each and every one of you, may the time you spend with us at the bottom end of Africa leave you with many pleasant memories and a strong desire to return in the not too distant future. Your contribution to our Masonic progress is always greatly appreciated.

I am delighted by the contribution that he is making in his new role and am equally pleased by the extremely eective and dedicated support we receive from our 4 Assistant Provincial Grand Masters, Wor Bros Johann Haasbroek, Jeremy Peacock, Malcolm Lotter and Brian Rossouw. Vitruvius’ De Architectura 2007 G S-A ~ J G S-A ~ Y A S B G L

Vitruvius’ De Architectura 3.1.3: “e navel is naturally placed in the centre of the human body, and, if in a man lying with his face upward, and his hands and feet extended, from his navel as the centre, a circle be described, it will touch his ngers and toes. It is not alone by a circle, that the human body is thus circumscribed, as may be seen by placing it within a square. For measuring from the feet to the crown of the head, and then across the arms fully extended, we nd the latter measure equal to the former; so that lines at right angles to each other, enclosing the gure, will form a square.”
