Habitat Description and Marking HCVs: -Coupe is within Tanjil River catchment - supplying domestic, industrial and agricultural customers in the Latrobe Valley. -There is a large amount of modelled Greater Glider habitat within the southern section of TRP. -Multiple Southern Greater Glider and Yellow-bellied Glider observations have been recorded within the coupe boundary, all verified observations are located outside of the marked harvest area. -Koalas are known in this general area and an observation has been identified within the southern area of the TRP boundary and in the adjacent coupe to the south. -There is a Sooty Owl observation within 200m of northern TRP coupe boundary. -A Spot-Tailed Quoll Special Management Zone is located adjacent to the south-east TRP boundary. -The Coupe TRP boundary includes modelled environment for flora value Tree Geebung. -5 large trees >250cm dbh are within 500m of the coupe boundary.

Protect, Thinning treatment area is restricted to areas of uniform 1974 mixed species regrowth. Areas identified with higher habitat value such as HBT 1 trees and hydrology values are retained and excluded from harvesting. DELWP Pre harvest surveys identified Fauna values of Southern Greater Glider, Yellow-bellied Glider, Koala and Sooty Owl within the TRP shape, the location of all verified observations have been excluded from the treatment area. Multiple observations in the south east corner of the coupe includes high concentrations of HBT 1 values, directly correlating with modelled Greater Glider Habitat. This area is excluded from harvest. Water catchment values have been protected through exclusion of stream buffer areas in conjunction with Habitat retention.

Recruit, Habitat recruitment is greatly supported by THB, thinning from below creates improved biodiversity by enhancing conditions for understorey growth and improved wildlife habitat such as faster hollow development. All HBT1 trees will be retained during operations with HBT 2 trees prioritised for recruitment in close proximity.

Connect, Connectivity is supported through a Thinning from below silviculture system, THB creates a high level of retention through the planned harvestable area. Connectivity Is further supported by the retention of hydrology buffers that include high amount of HBT 1 and 2 trees. The eastern hydrology filter has been extended to include trees with Habitat value and connect retained areas to the STQ SMZ. Habitat trees will be retained... Scenario . Outside the harvesting tapes, but within the 'gross coupe boundary' Yes
