Dengan keluasan 949.86 km persegi Ia ditadbir oleh dua agensi kerajaan iaitu Pejabat Daerah dan Tanah Slim River dan Majlis Daerah Tanjong Malim (MDTM). Kedua-dua institusi ini adalah merupakan nadi dan penghubung langsung antara Kerajaan dengan orangramai. Keberkesanan pentadbiran kedua-dua institusi ini melambangkan imej pentadbiran Kerajaan samada baik atau buruk. Majlis Daerah Tanjong Malim merupakan Pihak Berkuasa Tempatan bagi Daerah Kecil Slim River/Tanjong Malim ini. Sebagai Pihak Berkuasa Tempatan yang dikenali sebagai kerajaan ketiga iaitu yang paling hampir dengan rakyat sudah tentu hasrat kerajaan memerintah agar rakyat didahulukan pencapaian diutamakan diberi penekanan walaupun “pelbagai pihak” sedia maklum kekurangan dan kekangan yang ada pada pentadbir Pintu Masuk Utama selatan negeri Perak ini. Selama tiga dekad, pentadbir ini sedikit sangat dibantu untuk memakmurkan Pintu Masuk Utama Negeri Perak. Secara tidak langsung mengambarkan Perak seadanya walaupun tiga dekad yang telah berlalu itu begitu ramai yang ditauliahkan pangkat “Laksamana” dipersada pemerintahan Negara namun amat sedikit pula yang berbakti kepada Negeri tumpah darahnya. Negeri Perak hingga ke hari ini dan bandar-bandar pentingnya terus secara halus dilupa dan seolah-olah dipinggirkan. Walaupun suatu ketika dahulu negeri Perak pernah menjadi “Juara” dan “Big Brother” kerana kekayaan hasil buminya dan pemurah para pemimpinnya. Kini ia tinggal kenangan. Tanah yang dulunya kaya dengan Bijih Timah kini tinggal kolam-kolam yang kebanyakannya amat terhad penggunaannya.

    NEWS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE PUBLICATION MALAKOFF POSTS A NET PROFIT OF RM286.6 MILLION FOR FY2020 Alam Flora and Higher Share of Profit from Associates Continue to Drive Earnings KUALA LUMPUR– 19 February 2021: Malakoff Corporation Berhad (“Malakoff” or “Group”), a member of the MMC Group, recorded a Profit After Tax and Minority Interests (“PATMI”) of RM286.6 million for the financial year ended 31 December 2020 (“FY2020”), a decrease of 10.5% from RM320.2 million for the financial year ended 31 December 2019 (“FY2019”). The decline was primarily attributed to the absence of a one-off gain from the disposal of the Group’s investment in Malakoff Australia Pty Ltd (“MAPL”) in the previous financial year. However, this was partially moderated by the absence of a net impairment loss on the Group’s carrying value of investment in 40%-owned Kapar Energy Ventures Sdn Bhd (“KEV”) and the absence of KEV’s share of losses in FY2019. Excluding the extraordinary items consisting of the Macarthur Windfarm disposal gain, net impairment loss and share of losses from KEV and the gain on remeasurement of the Group’s investment in Shuaibah in FY2019 as well as the Tanjung Bin Energy Sdn Bhd (“TBE”) settlement gain in FY2020, Malakoff’s net profit improved by 20.5% from RM210.1 million in FY2019 to RM253.5 million in FY2020. The increase in the Group’s earnings excluding the extraordinary items were mainly attributable to the higher share of profit from associates amounting to RM171.8 million in the year under review, compared to a loss of RM21.6 million in the previous corresponding year.

The concept of LOS lies on the importance of an assessment of roadway operational performance services for the improvement of bus service delivery. A high performance of bus service delivery could relatively influence the satisfaction level of its users. This study assesses the LOS of three main designated routes of SMART buses in Kajang Selangor (KJ01, KJ02, and KJ03). The SMART buses are free buses provided under a free transit programme which aims to encourage people to use public transportation. An on-board survey and inventory observation were employed to collect the data. Findings indicate that KJ01, KJ02, and KJ03 fall under the category of LOS D considering the attributes of service frequency, service hours, passenger load/thresholds, and speed of bus. The discovery may serve as a useful guidance for the development of a comprehensive plan for LOS to be coordinated in improving the service quality of bus transportation.     THE PERCEPTION OF PLANNING STAKEHOLDERS IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF KAJANG MUNICIPAL COUNCIL LOCAL PLAN 2020 WITH REFERENCE TO PUBLIC FACILITIES SECTOR BY NUR AULIA BT ROSNI A thesis submitted in fulfilment of the requirement for the degree of Master of Science (Built Environment) Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design International Islamic University Malaysia JULY 2015 ABSTRACT The study examines the implementation of the Kajang Municipal Council Local Plan 2020 with reference to public facilities sector. Local plan is the document containing policies that guide the way of development planning and Local governance. It is the lowest tier of administrative authority as required by the Town and Country Planning Act 1976 (Act 172) and Local Government Act 1976 (Act 171). It forms the basis of the development plan of a locality in Malaysia. However, the efficiency of its implementation is questioned by those who have an interest in the planning practice, namely the stakeholders. The public facilities sector was chosen as the research subject, because it has been regarded by the Federal Department of Town and Country Planning Peninsular Malaysia as one of the most important indicators of sustainable development. The planning principles for public facilities provision has been categorized into four scopes, namely (i) Availability, (ii) Quantity, (iii) Location, and (iv) Condition. Data collection was conducted in three main settlement areas within Mukim Kajang - Kajang Town, Bangi Town and Bandar Baru Bangi. The research methods comprised of field survey, observation and document analysis, wherein all the data were analysed using SPSS software. The key findings of this study include (i) Lack of Stakeholders Involvement in Decision Making Process, (ii) Lack of Awareness among the Local Community, (iii) Issues in Public Facilities Monitoring and Maintenance, and (iv) Inability to implement the Public Facilities.
