2016 AUSTRALIAN U18 CHAMPIONSHIPS & KEVIN COOMBS CUP 16 – 23 APRIL, 2016 BULLETIN TWO Volunteers Any qualified persons attending the Championships, and are prepared to assist with either Stats, or Score Table duties are encouraged to contact Forestville Basketball Club (see contact details below) by Friday 8th April. Your details will then be forwarded to persons rostering for the championships. Volunteers will not be rostered to games involving ‘your’ team. Ticketing Pre purchase tickets are available now by clicking on the championship link on BA web site or Forestville web site. Prices are: Weekly Family (2 + 2) $180.00 Adult $ 75.00 Student/concession $ 40.00 Pre purchased tickets will be available for pick up Friday April 15 from Wayville Sports Centre. Pre purchase ticket sales close COB Wednesday April 13. Daily Family (2 + 2) $ 35.00 Adult $ 15.00 Student/concession $ 7.00 Training Attached to this bulletin is a schedule for training on Friday 15th April, training will take place at Wayville Basketball Stadium as well as Marion Stadium (22 Norfolk Road, Marion). Reminder: Please submit training forms for the first five days of the tournament so the rosters can be confirmed. Media Sessions Attached to this bulletin is a schedule for the media sessions on Friday 15th April. These will take place prior to your scheduled training session. The media session will include your team photos and individual portraits with Kangaroo Photos as well as time with Basketball Australia’s Media Team. The session should take no longer than half an hour. Opening Ceremony The opening ceremony will take place on Saturday April 16th at 10.00am on Main Court at Wayville. All teams are asked to be assembled on court 2 by 9.50am so proceedings can commence on time. Venue will be open by 9.00am. Café and coffee outlets will be open by 9.00am. Teams are requested to wear their Team Tracksuit or similar. Please no thongs or hats. Welcome Function The official welcoming function will be in the form of a Civic Reception at the Unley Civic Centre, 181 Unley Road, Unley, SA 5061 The event will be hosted by the Mayor of Unley, the honourable Lachlan Clyne, patron of the Forestville Eagles Basketball Club at 7.00pm on Friday July 5th. The Technical Meeting will follow the reception at approximately 7.45pm. Directions to venue can be obtained by using Google Maps – 181 Unley Road, Unley Enter from Oxford Terrace (car parking at rear of Town Hall from Oxford Terrace, or at Unley Shopping Centre, across Unley Road from complex) All Coaches and Managers are invited, as are all referees. Dress Code is as for Opening Ceremony. Closing Ceremony The closing ceremony will take place on main court immediately following the Men’s Grand Final at approximately 8:45pm. At completion of Men’s Grand Final all other teams are required to assemble on court 2 behind mascots for closing ceremony. The closing ceremony is a compulsory event for all participating teams. Merchandise The official merchandise partner of the Australian Junior Championships, iAthletic, will be onsite with a great range of merchandise to sell. A flyer is attached to this bulletin. Information Booklet An information booklet is currently under preparation, and while we had hoped to email to teams, size will not allow this and a hard copy will be in the team pack handed to team managers on Friday April 15th. This booklet will contain some information you may already have received as well as all other information you should need throughout the Championships. Videos Forestville will be videoing all games. Coaches can purchase a package of games. For Coaches, copies will be produced and we will endeavour to make them available for collection 1 hour after completion of game. Games played at Pasadena will not be available until after cards are returned to Wayville. This may be up to 1 hour after last game is played at Pasadena on any given day. On Wednesday we will endeavour to get cards to Wayville at two times during the day, as well as after last game, to facilitate production of requests. Packages of games are able to be purchased by parents, players and supporters. All packages MUST be paid for upon order being placed. All packages include cost of USB and posting in price. USB will be posted to purchaser by COB Wednesday April 27th. Order for game tapes will be included with third bulletin This will be distributed about April 6. Statistics Coaches will obtain a copy of their stats at the conclusion of their game. Copies of score sheets and other statistics can be obtained from Championship Office upon request. This is a great chance to be trained by the ‘Australian Gliders’ women's wheelchair basketball coaches, Tom Kyle and David Gould and introduced to the exciting sport of wheelchair basketball. No previous experience is needed, anybody of any age or disability is invited! Pigeon holes Pigeon holes will be in Administration office. Any requested paperwork, game tapes will be placed in these when ready. Spectator Photography Any friends or family wishing to take photos or videos at the Championships will need to sign in at the Ticket Desk and display their pass at all times. Updated Parking Details Team Parking Please refer to the map attached. Entry via Rose Tce P2 and then into the internal car park – we will install signage to direct buses to the parking area. All buses will need to exit via Leader St (will not fit out Rose Tce P2 exit) – it will be important to relay this message to all bus drivers. Bus drivers will need to take a car park ticket on entry in Rose Tce P2 (push button and wait for ticket to be printed) however upon exit at Leader St gate we have provided you a code for exit. All buses will need to exit out the eastern most exit – LEFT MOST GATE (closest to the Pig Pavilion) where there is a yellow key pad – code is entered for exit. Please find included below the code for busses exiting via Leader St. Please note that if there were any busses requiring entry via Leader St this code will also work for entry & exit. Busses will just need to pull up alongside the yellow keypad box to enter the code. 590258 (Valid 15th – 24th Apr) Public Parking Rose Tce P2: Ticketed parking Upon entry into car park 2, take a car park ticket at boom gate in Rose Tce P2 (push button and wait for ticket to be printed). Turn right through car park (do not go through gateway in red fence) Drive to end of car park. Stadium entrance is at left hand side at end of car park. Upon entry (or exit) of stadium, validate ticket in machine adjacent to coke machine. Place ticket in machine – follow arrow on ticket. Once light has turned from green to red, ticket is validated (there is no cost to Championship Patrons). This can be done at any time, as there is no time limit to leave venue after validation. Car park 2 operates in this manner at all times. On weekends, and after 5.30pm on work days car park 3 becomes available also. This park does not issue or require a ticket. Simply drive up to boom gate and it will raise to allow entry. Same for exit. DO NOT VALIDATE MORE THAN ONCE. Exit through car park down left hand side as you head back to where you entered. Rose Tce P3: No ticket parking Available for parking all day each weekend. Only available after 5.30pm Friday 15th and Monday 18th – Friday 22nd. Showgrounds will place a “No Parking” sign at the car park entrance during the week. .
