UVM Sororities Recruitment Overview Financial information UVM College Panhellenic (CPH) The UVM CPH is the body that governs and oversees the chapters Who Is UVM present on our campus The CPH is made up of an executive board and a council. The executive College board is made up of members from the chapters on campus, and the Panhellenic? council is made up of a delegate from each chapter. What is the Panhellenic Community at UVM like? Here at UVM, the members of the Panhellenic Community hold certain expectations for each other, like: Being actively involved in our philanthropies and events related to them, as well as participating in community service opportunities Always being supportive of your sisters, regardless of chapter affiliation Promoting Greek life in a positive light, both on and off campus Educating ourselves in sexual misconduct prevention, substance use, hazing prevention, and social justice. RECRUITMENT OVERVIEW STAGE 1 This stage will include a few things such as - orientation! - meeting and chatting with your Rho Gammas! - getting to know some basic information about the chapters! Every chapter on campus is partnered with a philanthropy specific to their sorority, and this stage is all about learning what our community does through philanthropic endeavors STAGE In this stage! This stage really highlights the values of each chapter! Each chapter has a unique preference ceremony that demonstrates how they value their sisterhood and ritual, and how they want you to be a part of it! In this stage! STAGE This is the last and final stage where you will finally see your bid card! Your bid card will indicate which chapter you've been welcomed home to! Financial Info As a member of a sorority, you are obligated to pay dues, which fund all the things that make being in a sorority great! Dues vary based on the chapter, but you'll find out all of the specific information you need during each chapter's financial presentation Dues for new members are often high, but decrease after the first semester. This is because, as a new member, you'll be paying a lot of one-time fees the first time around! Financial Info Heres a little info about the average dues of the UVM chapters for the 2019-2020 academic year! Average 2019-2020 Fall New Member Dues: $1074.40 Average 2019-2020 Spring Active Member Dues: In-House: $5,063 (only four of our six organizations have a chapter facility) Out-of-House: $ 737.76 While this was the case last year, our chapters are reassessing their dues given the current pandemic. However, while dues are expected to change, the change will vary in size from chapter to chapter.
