Roy’s been on a win ning team as a bat boy in the ’40s, pitcher in the '50s, and as a Manager in the '60s and '70s. Winning it all this year would have an extra spe cial meaning to him. With his quiet, calming personality and a .600 plus winning percen tage, Roy will keep the troops relaxed and competitive in their hunt for the Gold. Like Roy, Bill is an easy going, mild mannered individual that will be very beneficial in his new duties of controlling the ball park dur ing the games this year. Last year found Bill doing an excellent job announcing many home games, and this year he’s decided to branch out. But he'll be able to pinch hit as the voice to the fans. FREE ESTIMA TES Service master 434-6816 PROFESSIONAL CARPET CLEANING FOR HOME OR INDUSTRY SERVICEMASTER (LONDON) LTD. UPR-612 COLBORNE "from a household spot to a spotless house" DON PLUMB Statistician At home or on the road with the Majors, Don is there, briefcase in hand, keeping tabs on ERA’S, batting averages and fielding stats. His experience and dedication have made him tops in his field. The London Majors are very fortunate to have him once again as part of their organization. 7 MIKE RODRIGUES 3rd Base Coach Anyone who feels that a coach’s job at 3rd base is an easy one should talk to Mike. Just remembering the signs (bunt, steal, hit and run, sacrifice, take) is hard enough, but having to co-ordinate each with the player, the count, the inning, the score...and then when some one misses a sign who gets the blame?...THE COACH. Mike was a valuable addition to the Majors last year. His baseball knowledge and sense of humour have ideally suited him to his position again this year. NORM ALDRIGE Coach His voice echoing throughout Labatt Park is as much a part of baseball as hits, runs, and errors. Always “rid ing” his own players in a good natured sort of way, he has a nackfor making the youngest ball player feel right at home. Player/Coach/Manager/Trainer, over the years Norm has done it all. WAYNE FENLON B-L T-Ft In every park throughout the Major Inter-County, even the casual fan knows the name WAYNE FENLON and with good reason. He has been calling signs behind the plate for the Majors since the mid-sixties. He hits for power, and famed for his precision bunting. Known to most as MAD DOG. or DOGGIE, Wayne sets the pace for London calling plays, aligning the defence ana na- ing the opposition. What’s in store for Wayne in ’83? Watch for the old dog to show you some new tricks. TOM MATT1NGLEY B-R T-R Tailing off slightly from his ’81 season, Tom struggled most of last year with lower back pains. Never one to complain or offer excuses, he delivered key hits when he had to while fielding his usual steady third base posi tion. A valuable team leader Matt is raring to go in '83. 8 LARRY HAGGITT B-L T-R A very professional athlete through and through, Larry is one of the strongest left-handed hitters to ever play in the Major Inter-County League. He drives almost four hours back and forth from his home in Leamington just for home games which gives evidence to his dedica tion to the game and his team. Larry batted .330 last year, hitting 6 homers and drove in 28 runs. Hag prefers to communicate with his bat. ARDEN EDDIE B-L T-R Did you know that in the past 15 years Arden has run over one thousand kilometres just getting between centre field and the dugout between innings. As owner of the Majors though, he will readily agree that he does even more running around off the field. An Inter-County all-star many times over, he is also the all-time base stealer in Majors’ history. Many people love the game, but few put as much time and effort into baseball as Arden. WYATT STINSON B-R T-R Proven ability as a solid senior calibre outfielder, Wyatt’s biggest problem over the last few years has been getting to the ball park. As afire-fighter for the City of London, shiftwork has been taxing, sometimes forc ing him to miss3-4 games in a row.

I am very fortunate to celebrate a personal milestone, my 15th season as part of the London Majors. We have completed our first anniversary of working with the London Majors Alumni Association to bridge the present players to the past players and we look forward to working even closer in the years to come. This group has done an amazing job of researching, investigating and collating past player statistics, individual and team photos, artifacts and stories for the IBL's project to create a Top 100 player list as well as a book to coincide with the start of the 100th IBL season. The group of alumni that has worked tirelessly on this project have seen the fruits of their labour evolve into a well-documented history of not only our league, but also the London Majors in a soft cover and hard cover book.
