CAST BIOGRAPHIES

ALIYAH CONLEY (Audrey) – Actress, host, and model from Los Angeles, CA; was awarded Best Actress at the Los Angeles Diversity Film Festival (LADFF) and Best Rising Star Actress at WorldFest International Film Festival in Houston 2017 for her portrayal of Young Layla in the Best Feature Film at NICE International Film Festival, I Am Still Here. Aliyah landed her first feature film, Love Triangle, at age seven, playing a younger version of the lead in flashbacks. Since then, Aliyah has been in films, commercials, and TV shows, working with Paula Patton in the movie Baggage Claim and Jack Black in Meet Me at the Reck, a web series. She has also appeared in Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew and Macbeth, and modeled for the Cherokee clothing line for Target’s back-to-school clothes, the “OSMO Coding Jam,” and been a “Num Noms” toy demo host. Along with her acting career, Aliyah still loves to be a kid and rock climb and play at the arcades.

ALEXIS DeLaROSA (Jesus) is a NY native, a proud Wesleyan graduate and is psyched to be back on the NOTE stage. Previous NOTE shows include Niagara Falls and Disassembly. TV credits include Shameless and The Last Ship. Catch him currently in the film Hunter Gatherer on Netflix. Thank you to my wife and love of my life, Crystal…you make all great things possible.

ELINOR GUNN (Mandy) – Elinor is delighted to be cast alongside such talented actors in such a remarkable play. A recent transplant to LA, Elinor had great success in Seattle, where she was cast in the American premiere of Sugar Daddies, written and directed by Sir Alan Ayckbourn; performed as Olivia in Twelfth Night and Cordelia in King Lear with Seattle Shakespeare Company, and as Queen Elizabeth I (a personal favorite) in Holiday of Errors with Sound Theatre Company, twice voted Seattle's Theatre of the Year. Elinor recently made her Theatre of NOTE debut as an understudy in Welcome to the White Room and was also seen in NOTE's late-night show Alternative Acts. She hopes you continue to support local theatre, and enjoy the show!

REAMY HALL (Carla/Producer) – Other NOTE shows include Niagara Falls (also producer), and YWP shows. MAREN O’SULLIVAN (Audrey) is making her professional debut in this production. Maren is a senior at The Archer School for Girls in Los Angeles. She studied Play Production at the Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences and attended Acting for Film at the Interlochen Center for the Arts’ summer program. There, she was awarded the Maddy Award for excellence in her craft and received the President's Honor. She is thrilled to be a part of this production and to have the chance to work with this dedicated cast and crew.

ISAAC CRUZ (Jesus understudy) – Isaac is an actor trained in New York and here in Los Angeles with credits that include the TV shows Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Blue Bloods, and the feature film August Falls. He can next be seen on the fifth season of TNT's The Last Ship. He is delighted to be involved with such a diverse group of talent and on such compelling material.

JENNIFER FLACK (Mandy understudy) This is Jenny's seventh production and third time understudying at NOTE. She's recently back from a baby-having hiatus, and is so happy to be returning to theater-making and to her creative family. Thanks to her favorite people, Wendi, Trevor and Kirsten in particular, for helping her remember. Thanks to her true loves, Eric and Griffin, for existing.

JONATHON LAMER (Mike understudy) is a member of Theatre of NOTE. Former credits with NOTE include Possum Carcass and understudy roles in I Wanna Hold Your Hand, Banshee and Welcome to the White Room. He also has appeared with Antaeus, A Noise Within, the Chance Theater, Company of Angels and The Blank. Jonathon is an adjudicator for the U.S. Army Europe Tournament of Plays.

BRAD C. LIGHT (Carpy U/S) was last seen on The Matrix stage in When Jazz Had The Blues. Brad is an ensemble member of Theatre of NOTE and has been in numerous productions through the years. Other LA theatre: Geffen Playhouse - Break of Noon (understudy) and The God of Hell. Odyssey Theatre Ensemble - Threepenny Opera, Mr. Kolpert and A Man’s a Man. Chicago Theatre: Goodman - Among The Thugs. Steppenwolf -Berlin Circle and Haymarket Eight, with many other Chicago credits. Regional theatre: Actors Theatre of Louisville - Dracula. Human Race - Proof. UK: The Traverse Theatre - The Spirit. He has been in many independent feature films including A Marine Story, Love and Distrust, and Silver Case. He has also guest starred on Criminal Minds, and had a co star in the American Crime Story – The People V. OJ Simpson.

PRODUCTION TEAM BIOGRAPHIES

SHARON YABLON (Playwright) has written and directed her plays for over 20 years. They have been published in journals, and she is co-editor of an anthology from the Los Angeles underground scene. With Sharon’s Farm, she presents site-specific plays in off- the-beaten-track locations. She has taught writing, done radio plays, dance pieces, and a short film. Two of her short stories were published from a collection in progress. She has pieces in LA True Crime at The Three Clubs bar every few months (next up December). Thank you Theatre of NOTE, actors, Sarah Wilson, and crew!

SARAH FIGOTEN WILSON (Director) – Directing credits include: Chance Theater (She Loves Me - LA Times Critics Choice, Little Women), Ruskin Group Theatre (The Face in the Reeds - world premiere), Costa Mesa Playhouse (Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well…), MTOC (Mary Poppins), and Hollywood Fringe Festival (Odilia). She served as Assistant Director on Death of a Salesman and The Motherf**ker with the Hat at South Coast Repertory, as well as assisting on the Broadway work sessions for David Mamet’s China Doll starring Al Pacino. Her costume design work has been seen at the Skylight Theatre (The Devil's Wife, Lost Child, Lord of the Underworld), Colony Theatre (El Grande Circus), Theatre of NOTE (Welcome to the White Room, Niagara Falls) and the Ruskin Group Theatre, where she was nominated for both LA Weekly and NAACP awards. Sarah is a graduate of Cal State University, Fullerton. DAVID BICKFORD (Producer) – This is his 14th show as a producer in 24 years as a NOTE member. A longtime admirer of Sharon Yablon’s writing, he is excited to finally be doing one of her plays here at NOTE. He is also looking forward to next spring when his 15th production for NOTE combines two of his biggest passions—theatre and roller derby—in For The Love Of. Also an actor and vocal coach, David was seen recently as Senator Michaels on Scandal and will be in the new HBO drama Here, Now debuting in 2018.

JOHN COLELLA (Producer) – Previously produced Niagara Falls for NOTE, Cloud-Cuckoo-Land (McCadden Theatre) and Welcome to the Moon & Other Plays (McCadden Theatre). Currently performing in 12 Angry Men (Laguna Playhouse). Los Angeles theatre credits include: Pinot Noir-loving Miles in Sideways (Ruskin Group Theatre), Cyrano in Cyrano de Bergerac (Ruskin Group Theatre), revolver (Celebration Theatre), Niagara Falls (Theatre of NOTE), It’s Just Sex (Secret Rose Theatre). JOHN MONEY (Producer) has produced numerous shows for NOTE, regional theater and off-Broadway. He is also a member of NOTE’s Board of Directors, and is one of the producers on the feature film of Kill Me, Deadly which originated as a stage play on NOTE’s stage (Kill Me, Deadly is now available on most digital sites including iTunes, Amazon Prime and Hulu). As with every production, Hello Stranger has taken the time and talents of many people, most listed in this program, but without your support of NOTE’s work and the talents of the various artists who share their artistic skills with us, none of this would be possible. KIRSTEN VANGSNESS (Producer) is drunk with the power of having produced many plays at NOTE and is quite pleased to add Hello Stranger to her list of art babies. Other things she has helped to produce include her own plays (Potential Space, MESS), and a movie you can watch on Hulu or iTunes called Kill Me, Deadly. In her spare time Kirsten co-owns the Santa Ana craft distillery The Blinking Owl (blinkingowldistillery.com), where you can go and drink cocktails and watch her bus tables if she’s not pretending she’s a computer genius for CBS that night.

KELLY EGAN (Stage Manager) is a proud Tech and Artistic Management Committee member at NOTE. She is a freelance SM and has worked all over Los Angeles with many fantastic artists. Kelly also works for the Haugh Performing Arts Center. She also makes the lights twinkle, the speakers sing, and the walls look pretty. And props...which has caused an aversion to wrapping boxes! Thank you family and friends for your continued support of the arts.

MARTHA CARTER (Lighting Design) is a lighting designer based out of Los Angeles, California. She has obtained her MFA in Lighting Designer from the University of California at Irvine and enjoys collaborating and working with ensemble companies to create new work that insight positive change within communities. Some of her recent credits include: Upstairs at The Celebration Theater, A Chorus Line at The Chance Theater, Good Kids, Dog Sees God and Intimate Apparel at Chapman University, Romeo and Juliet at Great River Shakespeare Festival, Peter Pan in Panama City Panama, and Evita in Panama City Panama.

FRED KINNEY (Set Designer) – Mr. Kinney is a Southern California- based designer and has designed over 80 theatre productions as well as trade shows and television. He has worked at numerous theaters: South Coast Repertory, A Noise Within, San Diego Repertory, The Prince Music Theater, New Jersey Repertory, The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey, Triad Stage and Vienna’s English Theatre, to name a few. Mr. Kinney has also worked on television productions such as Larry the Cable Guy’s Christmas Extravaganza, Jeopardy!, Urban Monk and Basketball Wives. He is a participant in the NEA/TCG Career Development Program for Designers and holds an MFA from the Yale School of Drama and a BA from the University of Texas at Austin.

MICHAEL O’HARA (Props Designer) is happy to be once again working at Theatre of NOTE. Besides Theatre of NOTE his props work has appeared at Coeurage, East West, The Road Theatre, The Blank, and The Celebration, among others. He has several upcoming shows around town (and some running) and he anticipates having a website ready to launch (finally) in the coming year. Michael has also worked in other capacities in theatre both onstage and behind the scenes.

MARC ANTONIO PRITCHETT (Sound Designer) works as an actor, fight coordinator and musician in the Los Angeles area and is proud to be part of Hello Stranger. Previous productions include Marat/Sade, Richard III, The Towering Inferno: The Musical and several YWP & late-night shows at Theatre of NOTE.

KATHRYN WILSON (Costume Designer) is a freelance costume designer working in Orange and LA County and is a full-time faculty professor at Cal State Fullerton for Makeup/Costume Design. She has designed for theatre, dance, and opera across the nation and internationally. Her recent design projects include work for Pacific Symphony, LA Fringe Festival, New Swan Shakespeare Festival, UC Irvine, Chapman University, Shakespeare Orange County, the Chance Theater and Prague Shakespeare Festival. In 2006, Kathryn received the LA Weekly Award for her costume design of Machiavelli. Kathryn received her MFA in costume design from the University of California, Irvine.
