Palo Alto High School Athletics Communicator (Winter) Words from the AD College Bound Student Athletes—CO 2017 On February 1st, the Paly Sports Boosters hosted their 2nd annual signing day ceremony to honor student-athletes who Alex Liang- Swimming (Stanford) are continuing their sports careers at the collegiate level. This year, we recognized 14 Paly Seniors who will compete next year at various colleges and universities throughout the nation Bennet Huang- Gymnastics (Iowa) in swimming, gymnastics, volleyball, crew, lacrosse, soccer, and football. Go Vikings! Cassandra Fong- Volleyball (SF State) All of our winter sports teams--Boys & Girls Basketball, Boys & Clay Watson- Crew (Columbia) Girls Soccer, and Wrestling—had excellent seasons with each team earning a CCS playoff berth. Boys Basketball, Girls Grace Zhao- Swimming (Stanford) Basketball and Wrestling were League Champions and the Boys and Girls Basketball teams both teams brought home Jackson Wood- Crew (UPenn) Division 1 CCS Championships. In Girls Wrestling, Sarah Aguilar was crowned an individual CCS Champion for her Jessica Lee- Volleyball (Claremont McKenna) weight class. Kaitlin Chiu- Lacrosse (Smith College) In order to participate in athletics, every athlete must have a Kimmi Chin- Crew (UCLA) valid sports physical. Physicals are good for one year. On June 3rd, Stanford Sports Medicine and the Paly athletic department will team up to provide sports physicals for our student Lauola Amanoni- Soccer (San Jose State) athletes. The cost for the physical will be $20 and all proceeds will be donated to Paly Athletics.
