NSU ASSISTANT DAVE SIMMONS RETURNS TO OLD STOMPING GROUNDS NSU assistant coach Dave Simmons will return to McNeese on Saturday, where he was the head coach for 12 seasons after being on McConathy’s first seven NSU coaching staffs. He came to McNeese after NSU knocked off Iowa in the 2006 NCAA Tournament, and he took the Cowboys to two postseasons (2011 NIT and 2012 CIT). McNeese won the 2010-11 SLC regular season title (Coach of Year) and appeared in two SLC Tournament championship games.
