Het gebied heeft momenteel een afwijkende invulling met een eigen ontstaansgeschiedenis. Om deze geschiedenis recht te doen in de verdere ontwikkeling en uitwerking van het natuurgebied is door Dienst Landelijk Gebied namens het projectteam gevraagd om een cultuurhistorisch onderzoek uit te voeren. Projectopdracht van Dienst Landelijk Gebied (DLG): Beschrijf samenvattend de cultuurhistorische ontwikkeling in het plangebied Oude Willem vanaf de middeleeuwen tot nu en benoem belangrijke cultuurhistorische/ archeologische waarden in het gebied. Beschrijf de bouwstenen voor de mogelijke inrichtingsvarianten, geef aanbevelingen voor de planvorming. -

Visser Functie Projectleider Contact 06-27617999 Versie 5.0 Definitief Datum - 2 - Versie 5.0 Definitief Samenvatting De Oude Willem is een landbouwenclave in het Nationaal Park Drents Friese Wold. Het plangebied is circa 450 hectare groot. Daarvan ligt globaal 250 hectare in de provincie Drenthe, in het beheergebied van waterschap Reest en Wieden, en 200 hectare in de provincie Fryslân, in het beheergebied van Wetterskip Fryslân. Het gebied is aangewezen in het kader van de Ecologische Hoofdstructuur (EHS) als toekomstig natuurgebied en maakt onderdeel uit van het Natura 2000-gebied Drents-Friese Wold & Leggelderveld. Een deel van de Oude Willem is reeds ingericht als natuur en een deel is in gebruik als landbouwgronden. De beoogde natuurontwikkeling in Oude Willem is gericht op herstel van het hydrologisch systeem en bijdragen aan de natuurwaarden van het Natura 2000-gebied. Daarom wordt ingezet op het herstel van de natuurlijke waterhuishouding en een geleidelijke landschappelijke overgang tussen het bos op de hogere gronden en de lagere open delen in Oude Willem. Voor de Oude Willem is in januari 2013 een Ruimtelijk ontwerp opgesteld dat in hoofdlijnen de toekomstige inrichting van het natuurgebied de Oude Willem schetst. Het Ruimtelijk ontwerp heeft ter visie gelegen, waarop reacties zijn binnengekomen. Een Inrichtingsplan Wilg (Wet inrichting landelijk gebied) en een inrichtingsplan voor het watersysteem zijn vervolgens opgesteld. Op basis van het inrichtingsplan van het watersysteem is vervolgens het watergebiedsplan gemaakt. In dit watergebiedsplan zijn twee besluiten opgenomen. Het GGOR (hoofdstuk 2) . -

Wold zonder grenzen met een verrassende variatie aan bos en stuifzand.... Grenzeloos genieten Op de grens van Zuidwest Drenthe en Zuidoost Friesland ligt een bijzonder gebied. Het Nationaal Park Drents-Friese Wold is één van de grootste natuurgebieden van Nederland. In 2000 werd ruim 6000 hectare bos, heide, stuifzand en beekdalgraslanden aangewezen als nationaal park. Het Drents-Friese Wold behoort tot de mooiste en belangrijkste natuurgebieden van Europa en is daarom aangewezen als Natura2000 gebied. Gastvrij onthaal Het gaat niet alléén om natuur: in en rond het nationaal park wordt hard gewerkt. De vele recreanten, aangetrokken door het schitterende natuurgebied, worden gastvrij ontvangen door de vele ondernemers uit het hele gebied. Er wordt dan ook hard gewerkt aan versterking van de regionale economie door verduurzaming. Ligging Na de Hoge Veluwe is Nationaal Park Drents-Friese Wold het grootste aaneengesloten bosgebied van ons land. Maar dit nationale park is meer dan bos alleen. In het Drents-Friese Wold dwaal je van zandverstuiving naar vennetje, van heide naar moeras. -

Door Bertus Voortman Dit artikel is met toestemming van Bertus Voortman overgenomen uit het ‘Levend Ver- leden’ van de Historische Vereniging ‘De Smilde’ De Decauvillebaan langs de huidige Bosweg was een smalspoorbaantje, dat gebruikt werd voor de ontginning van de landbouwenclave Oude Wil- lem. Uit: Knapzakroute K8, Hoogersmilde, pag. 7, juli 2006. Het ontspanningslokaal, de schippersbeurs, te Hoogersmilde, waar het startpunt was van de Decauvil- lebaan. Links op de voorgrond staan twee platte lorry’s. Nu is er het restaurant Het Rietendak in ge- vestigd. In de serie Knapzakroutes, wandelen door onbekend Drenthe, Hoogers- milde (K8) staan op pagina 6, twee kaarten. Het stukje kaart komt van Kaart nr. 186 uit de Atlas van Historische Topografische Kaarten, Dren- the, uitgegeven in 2007, maar de betreffende kaart is van 1923. Op de bo- venste staat, iets ten zuiden van de Beilervaart, aan de andere kant van de Smilder of Drentsche Hoofdvaart, bij MP 17, de Decauville Baan aange- geven. Toen lag die 'Baan' er dus nog. De Decauville Baan liep van de Smil- dervaart tot in Friesland, langs GP 79 (Kaart 185, Elsloo). Zo'n 300 meter van de grens Drenthe-Friesland slaat de baan af naar links, loodrecht langs de grens, om tussen grenspaal 73 en 72 weer terug te keren op Drents grondgebieds. Het eindpunt lag bij de weg Diever-Wateren, bij MP 5. Dit 2 is nu de Oude Willemsweg. Eindpunt bij Diever? Ja, en nee; ja, want hier lag het eindpunt van de smalspoorbaan vanwaar de trein ook terug moest. -

The Explosive Radiation of Cheirolophus

BMC Evolutionary Biology 2014, 14:118 http://www.biomedcentral.com/1471-2148/14/118 RESEARCH ARTICLE Open Access The explosive radiation of Cheirolophus (Asteraceae, Cardueae) in Macaronesia Daniel Vitales1*, Teresa Garnatje2, Jaume Pellicer3, Joan Vallès1, Arnoldo Santos-Guerra4 and Isabel Sanmartín5* Abstract Background: Considered a biodiversity hotspot, the Canary Islands have been the key subjects of numerous evolutionary studies concerning a large variety of organisms. The genus Cheirolophus (Asteraceae) represents one of the largest plant radiations in the Canarian archipelago. In contrast, only a few species occur in the Mediterranean region, the putative ancestral area of the genus. Here, our main aim was to reconstruct the phylogenetic and biogeographic history of Cheirolophus with special focus on explaining the origin of the large Canarian radiation. Results: We found significant incongruence in phylogenetic relationships between nuclear and plastid markers. Each dataset provided resolution at different levels in Cheirolophus: the nuclear markers resolved the backbone of the phylogeny while the plastid data provided better resolution within the Canarian clade. The origin of Cheirolophus was dated in the Mid-Late Miocene, followed by rapid diversification into the three main Mediterranean lineages and the Macaronesian clade. A decrease in diversification rates was inferred at the end of the Miocene, with a new increase in the Late Pliocene concurrent with the onset of the Mediterranean climate. Diversification within the Macaronesian clade started in the Early-Mid Pleistocene, with unusually high speciation rates giving rise to the extant insular diversity. Conclusions: Climate-driven diversification likely explains the early evolutionary history of Cheirolophus in the Mediterranean region. -

INSPRAAKREACTIES De inspraakreacties zijn hierna samengevat en van een gemeentelijke beantwoor- ding voorzien. De terinzagelegging van de inspraaknota valt samen met het ont- werp bestemmingsplan. De gehanteerde nummering in deze nota correspondeert met de nummering weergegeven op de inspraakreacties. 1. Perceel Oude Willemsweg 5 te Oude Willem Inspraakreactie: 1. Insprekers geven aan dat het bestemmingsvlak met de bestemming ‘Wonen – Voormalige boerderijen’ onjuist c.q. te klein is weergegeven. Een bedrijfsge- bouw komt hierdoor ten onrechte buiten dit vlak te liggen. De grens van het vlak zou volgens insprekers 30 meter vergroot moeten worden. 2. De voorgenomen bestemming ‘Natuur’ voor het gehele perceel is onjuist en onaanvaardbaar, nu het perceel thans in gebruik is als kruidenkwekerij. De voorgenomen natuurbestemming zou de uitvoering van de hierbij behorende bedrijfsvoering onmogelijk maken. Dit terwijl insprekers juist voornemens zijn de bedrijfsactiviteiten uit te breiden en te verduurzamen. Insprekers verwijzen naar de notitie reikwijdte en detailniveau van de Grontmij van 25 januari 2010 waarin op pagina 11 wordt vermeld dat wijziging naar natuur pas kan plaats- vinden nadat de grond is verworven ten dienste van die functieverandering, hetgeen hier niet aan de orde is. Beantwoording: 1. De verschijningsvorm van de woning voldoet niet aan de criteria van Wonen – Voormalige boerderijen. Het betreft een burgerwoning, waarvoor de bestem- ming Wonen – Voormalige boerderijen niet gerechtvaardigd is. De bestemming zal worden gewijzigd in Wonen. Het bestemmingsvlak wordt afgestemd op de eigendomsgrens. 2. Gebleken is dat het betreffende perceel een burgerwoning betreft, waarbij momenteel een kleinschalige kwekerij gevestigd is.
