How to Apply Your Makeup in Ten Simple Steps Look your best everyday with these 10 simple makeup tips that’ll have you in and out of the mirror in no time with flawless results! Makeup Must Haves: Foundation that matches your skin tone Concealer (one shade lighter than your foundation) Powder Blush Eye Liner Eye shadow (always keep a neutral palette) Mascara Lipstick Lip gloss Brushes Foundation Brush (ex. Mac #187) Blush brush (ex. Mac #168) Angled Eyebrow Brush (ex. Mac #216) Eye shadow brushes ■ Base color for the crease of your eye (ex. Mac #280) ■ Blender (ex. Mac #224) Let's Begin! 1. Apply a concealer over dark circles under the eyes as well as any blemishes. Blend in the concealer with your fingertips, makeup sponge, or if you really want to get fancy, a concealer brush (ex. Mac #212). 2. Find a foundation that matches your skin tone. Keep in mind that as the seasons change, so will your complexion. In the winter our skin tone tends to become lighter due to less exposure to the sun. Similarly we become tanner during the summer. With that in mind you may want to change the color of your foundation twice a year. In terms of applying the foundation, apply it in dots down the center of your face (forehead, nose, chin) and then on both cheeks. Now blend it in in a circular motion with your foundation brush. If you’re using your fingertips blend in your foundation in the motion of a smiley face. 3. Use a loose or pressed powder to keep your foundation and concealer on longer. The trick to even coverage is to apply your powder in motion of a number three on each side of your face. 4. Fill in your eyebrows with a powder that matches your natural hair color. Use an angled eyebrow brush. The ends of the hair should brush across your eyebrows to fill in any gaps and create a more defined eyebrow. 5. Next is your eye color palette. Choose three colors: light, medium, and dark. The traditional way of applying your eye shadow is to apply the medium color to the crease of your eye, the darker color to line your upper eyelid, and the lightest shade for under the eyebrow. 6. To apply your eyeliner use a fine point eyeliner brush for liquid liner to “connect the dots” making a line all the way across the upper lid as close to the lash line as humanly possible! 7. Now apply your mascara to the upper and lower lash. Remember to brush the top and bottom of the upper lash. For a natural look choose brown or black mascara. 8. Don’t forget the blush ladies - it’s our secret beauty weapon! Put the blush on your brush and tap of any excess. Look in to the mirror and smile in order to find the apple of your cheek. Now sweep your brush from the apple of your cheek to your cheekbone all the way to your hairline. 9. Now for the final touch choose a lipstick color that works well with your complexion and personality. It may take some testing ladies, but once you find that perfect shade of lipstick you won’t want to leave the house without it. 10. You did it! Another day, and another makeup application. Now look in the mirror, smile and say, “Ain’t I fine!” .
