(040) 853 88 888 ∙ www.fkpscorpio.com PRESSEMITTEILUNG 16.05.2018 Ilse DeLange im Herbst in Deutschland Seit ihrem Debütalbum „World Of Hurt“, das 1998 erschienen ist, ist Ilse DeLange eine der bekanntesten und meistverkauften Künstlerinnen in den Niederlanden. Ihre unzähligen Hit-Singles und -Alben sprechen eine ebenso deutliche Sprache wie die unzähligen Awards, die sie entgegennehmen durfte. Nebenbei ist sie eine der populären Coaches in der Fernsehsendung „The Voice Of Holland“, Moderatorin ihrer eigenen TV-Show und veranstaltet das Americana-Festival Tuckerville. Am bekanntesten dürfte sie allerdings durch ihre Band The Common Linnets sein. Ilse DeLange hatte die Idee, mit einer Band zusammenzuarbeiten, ein bisschen Country-Musik zu machen, einfach ein Konzert mit gleichgesinnten Musikern zu spielen und ein Album aufzunehmen. Ganz unaufgeregt und abseits vom großen Musikzirkus. Aber bei ihrer Popularität war es eine fast naive Vorstellung, dass sie irgendwie unter dem Radar fliegen könnte. Prompt wurden sie für den Eurovision Song Contest nominiert und erreichten mit „Calm After The Storm“ nicht nur den zweiten Platz (hinter Conchita Wurst übrigens), sondern hatten gleich in 14 europäischen Ländern einen Nummer-eins-Hit. Dieses Jahr erscheint das neue Solo-Album von Ilse DeLange, aus dem vor Kurzem auch die erste Single „OK“ veröffentlicht wurde.     Recensie: The Common Linnets*** Ancienne Belgique Brussel maandag 13 oktober 2014 foto © Geert Vercauteren Recensie: June Carter en Johnny Cash, dat was het plaatje dat gans Europa voor zich zag toen Waylon en Ilse DeLange zich op het Eurovisiesongfestival aanboden als The Common Linnets. En Europa vond dat het plaatje klopte: The Common Linnets werden tweede in de finale. Bleek dat het project van DeLange is, er een haar in de boter zat met Waylon (al in de aanloop van het Eurovisiesongfestival waren die geruchten er) en The Common Linnets eerder een – ja hoe benoem je dat eigenlijk – een soort collectief is. DeLange is dus lang niet de frontvrouw, soms neemt een van de Crosby's (Matthew of Rob), JB Meijers of Jake Etheridge de zang voor zijn rekening en neemt DeLange (tijdens "Runaway Man“ bijvoorbeeld) de backings voor haar rekening. Bonne chance voor organisatoren en het  record label om – zeker in tijden waar een consument duidelijkheid en transparantie weet te waarderen – dit te verkopen aan muziekliefhebbers. Waarom het makkelijk maken als het moeilijk ook kan? Zo lijkt het verhaal van The Common Linnets wel te lezen. Mochten wij een managementfunctie hebben, we hadden het project al snel hertimmerd tot een duo met een bandje. Waarom? Omdat het blijkbaar werkt, omdat Europa dit lekker vindt. Dus moet je soms gewoon aanbieden wat de consument wil. Countryworst inderdaad. Als ze een moderne Cash en Carter willen zien, dan gééf je ze die gewoon. Nu goed, The Common Linnets heeft die keuze dus niet gemaakt, wat volgens ons commercieel gezien niet al te slim is, toch zeker live niet. Aan spontaniteit geen gebrek bij The Common Linnets nochtans.

    Listeners Guide To WDAM Radio’s History of Elvis Presley This is the most comprehensive collection ever assembled of Elvis Presley’s “charted” hit singles, including the original versions of songs he covered, as well as other artists’ hit covers of songs first recorded by Elvis plus songs parodying, saluting, or just mentioning Elvis! More than a decade in the making and an ongoing work-in-progress for the coming decades, this collection includes many WDAM Radio exclusives – songs you likely will not find anywhere else on this planet. Some of these, such as the original version of Muss I Denn (later recorded by Elvis as Wooden Heart) and Liebestraum No. 3 later recorded by Elvis as Today, Tomorrow And Forever) were provided by academicians, scholars, and collectors from cylinders or 78s known to be the only copies in the world.     PERSBERICHT Groningen, 17 januari 2015 The Common Linnets winnaar Popprijs 2014 The Common Linnets hebben de Popprijs 2014 gewonnen. The Common Linnets namen de meest prestigieuze prijs voor Nederlandse popmuziek, bestaande uit een geldbedrag van 10.000 euro en een beeld van Theo Mackaay, op zaterdag 17 januari 2015 tijdens Noorderslag in ontvangst. De uitreiking was live te horen op NPO 3FM en te zien bij de NOS op NPO 3. Volgens de jury bewezen The Common Linnets dat je ook met een puur, mooi gezongen liedje hoge ogen kan scoren. Niet alleen bereikte The Common Linnets met haar tweede plek op het Songfestival het beste resultaat sinds Teach-In in 1975 het festival won, ook belandde Calm After The Storm in dertien landen op de eerste plaats en in nog eens tien landen in de top drie. Het album The Common Linnets werd in Nederland de best verkochte cd van 2014. De Popprijs wordt uitgereikt aan de band of artiest die in het afgelopen jaar de belangrijkste bijdrage heeft geleverd aan de Nederlandse popmuziek. Daarbij spelen zaken als bijzondere artistieke prestaties, nationaal en internationaal succes of een langdurige carrière alle een rol, maar geen daarvan is doorslaggevend: het uiteindelijke oordeel is aan de jury. De Popprijs is de belangrijkste prijs voor popmuziek in Nederland en de uitreiking is een vast onderdeel van Noorderslag, de graadmeter voor Nederlandse muziek. Vorig jaar viel de Popprijs 2013 ten deel aan The Opposites.
