With a 50-6 mark, the Dukes finished the season with the best 2010 (Radford) 38-17 16-2 Regionals record in history (most wins and fewest losses). Dean coached the program’s first ever First Team All-American selections, Jailyn Ford and Megan Good, along with six All-CAA and All-Region selections. The Colonial Athletic Association named 2011 (Radford) 38-21 14-4 Coach Dean the Coach of the Year after a 18-1 record in conference and claiming the 2016 regional title. 2012 (Radford) 34-21 16-5 2013 (JMU) 42-17 18-3 Regionals Dean spent six seasons as the head coach at Radford before taking the position at James Madison. His Radford players accounted for 15 Big South annual awards, 14 All-Region honors, 37 All-Conference laurels and 32 All-State recognitions. 2014 (JMU) 45-15 15-3 Regionals Radford also had the program’s first All-America selection this past season. 2015 (JMU) 48-10 19-0 Regionals 2016 (JMU) 50-6 18-1 Supers Prior to being named the Highlanders’ head coach in 2006, Dean served as an assistant coach at Longwood University (2005-06), Indiana University (2002-04) and the University of Akron (2001-02). In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Dean has also worked on the professional and international level. He CULTURE CHANGE was the pitching coach for the Venezuelan National Team (2002-08) and the head coach for the Chicago Bandits (2004-10) that finished as the National Pro Fastpitch Regular-Season Champions five times and won the World Championship in Before Dean Since 2008. Dean was named NPF Manager of the Year three times and coached world-renowned pitcher , who was (2002-2012) (2013-Pr.) the NPF’s Co-Pitcher of the Year in 2005 and has a gold and silver medal from her two Team USA Olympic appearances.
