Board of Directors, I am pleased to present to you the 2020 Annual Report. Over the past 12 months as the Chair, I have been leading the Board to focus on working together to de- liver the Strategic Plan, as set by the previous Board, and building on the work they had already started. In addition to this, we have been focusing on increasing communications with members and providing greater transparency on the work we are doing. We lost two long-term Board members at last year’s AGM, including our Chair, and welcomed three new Directors to the table. It often takes time for a new Board to find its feet, but I am proud of everything we have achieved over the past year and the headway we have made toward the key initiatives as set out in the strategic plan. Board service is a tough and often thankless volunteer role, so I would personally like to acknowledge the contribution of all Board members. To this end, I would like to thank the following people for their commitment, time and passion: Don Cam- eron, Jim Manning, Kim Evans, Nicole Peterson, Paul Brooking, and Stuart Mossman. I would like to acknowledge the work of the previous Chair, Uby Fadoul, who left us at last year’s AGM for the five-plus years of service he dedicated to the SSA Board, including two years as Chair. Uby led the or- ganisation through significant change from a strategic perspective and had a dedicated focus on key areas such as governance, finance, risk and strategy. His work and leadership helped bring the Board in line with the recommended approach to governance and, while most of the work Uby did for SSA during his time on the Board was not visible to the members, he had a significant impact on the successful running of this organisation and put us in a good position to move forward. 6 7 Throughout the year, we said goodbye to Andie Collett James and the staff have continued to provide direc- Strategically, being competitive and excelling is im- EVENTS who resigned from the SSA Board of Directors after tion and information to members of their responsibil- portant for softball in the state and we will continue Softball Australia recently announced the 2021-2023 a term of nearly eight years. • Strategic Plan COPABE 2020
Strategic Plan COPABE 2020 - 2025 About this document The Pan American Baseball Confederation, is the fundamental pillar for the development of baseball in AMERICA, it must provide all the support and benefits for the growth of the national federations in the continent. The purpose of this document is to present in an orderly manner, a solution to the problems that, over time, have made COPABE an organization with organizational difficulties and lack of growth as the maximum entity of continental sport. Identifying the current critical factors has led us to develop a document that is presented as a Strategic Plan for the period 2020 -2025. To develop it, as a first step, we worked on the construction of a new mission, vision and values. A new starting point. This was possible after a deep and detailed analysis, also adding the points of view of different stakeholders, both inside and outside, to begin with the construction of a new structure. As a result, a broad and complete identification of objectives and solutions was achieved that help shape the common and coherent strategic objectives for the construction of this Strategic Plan and action plans. Behind each strategic objective are priorities that highlight particular areas of focus and activity, each employing its own goals and action plans to shape the global Strategic Plan. COPABE publishes a four-year Strategic Plan to transform, manage, develop and build a better organization with a unified structure, with a voice and government, for all national federations in all their categories and modalities. Executive committee The Objectives and action plans are detailed in diagrams that will facilitate reading and understanding.
