After the advent of Ganga canal in 1927 A.D. the cropping pattern of the Bikaner state has changed. After independent Bikaner State territory was divided into four district Bikaner, Ganganagar, Churu and Hanumangarh. 1.3 LOCATION AND GEOGRAPHICAL AREA Bikaner is one of the desert districts situated in the North-West of Rajasthan. It extends from 27 011’N to 29 03’ N latitudes and 71 054 E to 74 012’ E longitudes is bounded on the north by Ganganagar, south west by Jaisalmer, Pakistan in the west, Churu in east and Nagaur and Jodhpur district in South-East. The district has a geographical area 30413.4 Sq. km. which is around 8.8 percent of the total area of the state and stands at second place area wise in the state after the Jaislamer. 1.4 LAND USE PATTERN IN THE DISTRICT The total geographical area of Bikaner district is recorded at 30413.4 Sq. km. The classification of land use in the district as per land revenue records-2014-15 has been found as given under :- TABLE 1.4 LAND USE PATTERN YEAR 2014-15 S.No. DESCRIPTION Area in Hectares 1. Double Cropped Area 342233 Source : Land Records Department-2016 1.5 PHYSIOGRPAHY The major part of the district is comprised of desolate and dry regions which form part of the Great Indian Desert of Thar. There are two natural divisions of the district name (i) North and Western desert and (ii) South and Eastern Semi-desert. At many place one finds shifting sand-dunes of varying heights ranging from 6 to 30 meters. The general slope of the regions towards the West and South West. The district is devoid of any perennial stream. Small ephemeral streams flow in the vicinity of Kolayat, Gajner, and Gurha. Natural land depressions which retain some water during the monsoon are found near Loonkarnsar, Kolayat, Gajner and Nal. Construction of I.G.N.P. canal in the western parts has led to establishment of the stable dune field. The migrating sand is silting the canals and roads. 1.6 ADMINISTRATIVE SET-UP 1.6.1 Bikaner,Loonkaransar, Nokha, Khajuwala, Kolayat, Pugal, Chhatargarh, Dungargarh are Eight sub-divisions in the district. The district possesses four urban centers namely Bikaner (Gangashahar, Bhinasar) Nokha- Mandi, Deshnok and Dungargarh. Hot winds blow in summer, sweeping away and creating new sand-dunes. The highest temperature goes up to 50 0 C in summers and lowest up to 1 0 C in winter season.

[email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] Abstract—During the long lifetime operation of a GSS possibility of faults and disoperation do exists. Majority of problems existing in these working stations remains same basic difference lies in the suitability of preventive actions taken to cope up with those critical situations. Thus following research paper carries practical case study for the existing losses of a real time 220 kV GSS. In the Indian Power System shunt capacitor banks have been installed at 33 kV voltage level at EHV substations to compensate load reactive power demand. But the capacity of installed shunt capacitors does not match with load reactive power demand which results in excessive reactive power flow on lines and transformers. Reflectively it results higher transmission losses, increased loading and poor voltage profile of the network. In this research paper case study of Rajasthan power system has been studied to evaluate the losses existing at 33 kV voltage level on transmission and other assemblies deployed. 220 kV GSS Sri Dungargarh located in Churu district has been selected to carry out the detail studies. Actual system condition of 220 kV GSS Sri Dungargarh existing in September 2018 has been simulated in Software.

Faye 1* Key words Summary Camel - Dromedary - Animal hus- One hundred ninety-six camel owners of Bikaner and Jaisalmer districts in bandry method - Classification - Rajasthan were investigated in 23 villages connected by metalled roads from Rajasthan - India. July to September 1997. Questions about camel management and utilization were asked. Discriminatory parameters and methods were identified while running multivariate analysis with SPAD 3® software. They were assigned to RESSOURCES ANIMALES defined classes to carry out a typology of camel farming systems. Five classes related to camel owners’ activities and revenues were identified: 1) wealthy farmers (47%); 2) modest farmers (25%); 3) rearing activities predominating (19%); 4) very large families (6%); 5) poor landless breeders (3%). Four classes related to herd structure were defined: 1) medium-size camel herds (40%); 2) large herds of various species (28%); 3) single male camel herds (27%); 4) she-camel herds (5%). Six classes related to camel rearing objectives were revealed: 1) cart used for both business and farm (32%); 2) cart used for farm only (19%); 3) camel trade (19%); 4) ploughing and/or under-used camels (13%); 5) multipurpose camels (11%); 6) income from trade first and cart second (6%). Four classes related to nutritional management and health status were identified: 1) grazing around a village associated to stall feeding (39%); 2) stall feeding only (38%); 3) poor animal health status associated to migration (15%); 4) good health status associated to migration (8%).
