Dr. TATTOFF is the nation’s first branded chain of tattoo removal clinics. A word play on the phrase, the “doctor that takes tatts off,” Dr. TATTOFF is the leading tattoo removal company in the United States. Founded in the nation’s beauty capital, Beverly Hills, California, in 2004, the company has experienced rapid phenomenal growth. To date, the Dr. TATTOFF staff have performed over 15,000 laser treatments, operate three Southern California locations, and are considered the absolute experts in the field of tattoo removal. Dr. TATTOFF prides itself on being on the pulse. Each Dr. TATTOFF clinic is a state of the art medical facility. Waiting patients can check their email and surf the internet on waiting room computers or pop in one of their favorite films and watch it right there on one of Dr. TATTOFF’s plasma big-screen televisions. In launching Dr. TATTOFF, the purpose was to create a medical environment that would appeal to the type of person who has a tattoo. The genesis for Dr. TATTOFF started while Founder and CEO James Morel was living in New York in the late 1990’s. After days of struggling to find a place to have his own embarrassing tattoo removed, Morel realized that there must be millions of people like himself who had a tattoo they no longer wanted. Morel did eventually have that tattoo removed. Although he’ll never say what that tattoo was, his own tattoo removal experience led him to start Dr. TATTOFF. The Dr. TATTOFF partners have equally colorful stories, and in fact, include some of television’s most recognizable faces.

REALITY / TV / CELEBRITY David Raskin A thesis submitted to the faculty of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Arts in the Department of Communication Studies. Chapel Hill 2006 Approved by Advisor: Richard C. Cante Reader: Carole Blair Reader: Lawrence Grossberg ABSTRACT DAVID RASKIN: Reality / TV / Celebrity (Under the direction of Richard C. Cante) This research addresses the construction of personae on reality television series. Given Richard Dyer’s formulation of stardom as a balance of ordinary and extraordinary qualities, this paper seeks to understand how a reality television participant, lacking any traditional performance talent, could be articulated as extraordinary. Kenneth Burke’s concept of “mystery” as a desirability attached to objects atop a social hierarchy is used to help explicate the qualities of extraordinariness in reality TV stardom. Comparative formal analyses of three reality “star texts” delineate the differences between two women who attain limited fame and one who achieves wider stardom. It is concluded that two qualities are necessary to transcending the usual limits of reality television fame: the articulation of social power (closely tied to class); and the appearance of freedom and agency, even when under the constant surveillance of producers and camera operators. ii ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS I owe a debt of gratitude to a number of colleagues and friends who have informed and responded to my ideas during this writing process, but none more than Rich Cante and Scott Selberg. I also would not have come to this particular project without Dee Jacobs and Matt Zankowski, whose tastes helped me to find the diamond in the pablum.

Early in this team's history, their roster was fused with the Detroit Wolverines, which was owned by the same family as this team. This team won its second Super Bowl after Scott Norwood missed a field goal wide right. Running back (*) Tiki Barber, who feuded with a quarterback of this team, played for this team when the Ravens dominated them in Super Bowl XXXV ("35") .In one Super Bowl, the "Helmet Catch" was made by this team's wideout David Tyree. Behind defensive players such as Osi Umenyiora (yoo-men-ora), Justin Tuck, and Michael Strahan, this team vanquished the New England Patriots twice in Super Bowls. For 10 points, name this NFC East squad led, up until very recently and only for a game, by Eli Manning, which shares the Meadowlands with the Jets. ANSWER: New York Giants [prompt on New York; obviously do NOT accept San Francisco Giants] <HB> 2. Description acceptable. A Siivagunner rip that repeatedly makes this claim ends with a sample of Vince Guaraldi's "O Tannenbaum" and a clip of Charlie Brown saying "Oh, good grief." This claim was subverted in a Rolling Stone article when the creator of the work in question explained "it's visuals and that's about it" and to "blame it on being Canadian." TechOsmo, Trick5, and Game Bias have all supported this claim, following major articles about this claim by Yussef Cole and Ethan Gach.
