Apart from the star and orchid classifications, hotels that scores high in criteria related to environment conservation can also be rated as ‘Green Hotel’. The criteria is adopted from the ASEAN Green Hotel Standards. ASEAN Green Hotel Award At the ASEAN level, ‘ASEAN Green Hotel Award’ was introduced in the year 2008. It is a recognition given to hotels which fulfills the standards agreed upon by the ASEAN National Tourism Organizations. Each ASEAN Member States are to nominate hotels that meets the standards to be conferred the ASEAN Green Hotel Award. Awarded hotels are encouraged to continuously practice and fulfill the required criteria in order to retain the award. i ‘Green Hotel’ Grading Scheme for Hotel and Apartment Hotel Criteria Requirement Max.
