Administrative Professionals' Day

“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples.” – St. Mother Teresa

Wednesday, April 24th is Administrative Professionals' Day. We are proud to recognize and celebrate our school and department secretaries, administrative assistants and clerical staff for their contributions to the TCDSB community. These individuals are often the first point of contact for students, staff, parents and members of the community. They are integral to providing a warm and welcoming environment in our schools and offices and support to those who rely on them on a day-to-day basis.

Through their dedication to Catholic education, their enthusiasm and skills, our administrative staff members play a crucial role in supporting student success and well-being. We are blessed to have knowledgeable and talented individuals within our board who help us to transform the world though witness, faith innovation and action. Our administrative staff members also support strategies to educate students to grow in grace and knowledge, and to lead lives of faith, hope and charity.

We encourage everyone to take time to show their appreciation and gratitude for the invaluable work of these exceptional individuals who we rely on every day.

On behalf of the Trustees, Senior Team and entire Toronto Catholic District School Board family, we thank you for your dedication of service to our board and to Catholic education.

Sincerely,

Rory McGuckin Maria Rizzo Director of Education Chair of the Board

ARGOS TO PLAY PRESEASON GAME AT MAY 30 VS

TICKETS TO BE SOLD THROUGH TORONTO SCHOOL BOARDS

TORONTO - The will play their first preseason game of 2019 at Varsity on the campus of the University of Toronto on Thursday, May 30 at 11 am against the . The Argos are no strangers to as it served as the home of the Double Blue from 1916-1958 as well as playing host to a number of Argonauts preseason games this decade.

The Argos are happy to announce this will be a school day game with tickets being sold directly through Toronto District, Toronto Catholic and York School Boards with a portion of the proceeds benefitting each school board's foundations. Students will be treated to giveaways, mascot, and cheer squad performances as well as a Huddle Up Anti Bullying Program assembly at halftime. A limited number of tickets will be held for season ticket members available in early May.

"Providing an opportunity for kids to come to an Argos game, perhaps for the first time is a top priority for our organization and that is why it was important to isolate an 11 am preseason game in participation with the school boards. In conjunction with the CFL’s #TryFootball campaign, the Argos want to expose kids to the great game of football and urge them to pick up a ball, learn to throw, catch and run a pattern,” said Chris Shewfelt, VP Business Operations. “Through our recent partnership with Toronto Flag Football, and with our commitment of getting footballs into kids hands we look to grow participation and enjoyment of our great sport. The first time a child learns to throw a spiral is a special moment, we hope to enable that further in our community to many more kids.”

In addition to the preseason game, the Argonauts also announced the organization will be giving away 2,000 CFL leather footballs throughout the 2019 season. More information on this project will be available shortly, please visit http://www.argonauts.ca or follow @torontoargos for more info.

“We’re excited to support the Argos’ school day preseason game at Varsity Stadium, and we share their commitment to growing our game,” said Randy Ambrosie, Commissioner of the League. “Whether it’s on the field at a flag tournament or cheering with their friends in the stands, it’s important to us to engage young people and share the fun and excitement of football. Going to games as a kid was always so special and really spurred my love of football, and I know this game will be a memorable experience for so many.”

The Boatmen's 2019 regular season kicks off at 4 pm on June 22 vs the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Tickets will be available in early May, don't miss your chance to cheer on the Argos live and in person for the first time at BMO Field in 2019!
