This Easter weekend will be a good chance for students to ask family and friends that are gathered for pledges in support of our school community. The pledge forms and monies collected will be collected by teachers on Thursday, 25 April. SVDP Parent Council – Delegating at 16 May Board Meeting Planning Meeting at 6pm, 8 May – Before Parent Council – All Are Welcome! At our April CSPC meeting, parent council agreed the SVDP will be delegating at the Thursday, 16 May, 7pm, Board meeting (80 Sheppard Ave East) with regards to the need of board support and funds for our playground revitalization for our children in support of their well being and academic success. A few delegations with parents and students in attendance showing support is the plan. We will be discussing our strategy, and comparing content, for the delegations at 6pm on Thursday, 8 May - prior to our 7pm, parent council meeting. All Are Welcome. We are aiming to have at least 20 parents and 10 students in attendance. Discussions will also include what stress is, how kids can identity stress and then teach everyone a few natural stress reducing and calming techniques. Its guaranteed to be fun, impactful and engaging workshop suitable for ages 4 to adults. REMINDERS Please be cognizant that supervision in the school yard begins at 8:45AM. The Argos are no strangers to Varsity Stadium as it served as the home of the Double Blue from 1916-1958 as well as playing host to a number of Argonauts preseason games this decade. The Argos are happy to announce this will be a school day game with tickets being sold directly through Toronto District, Toronto Catholic and York School Boards with a portion of the proceeds benefitting each school board's foundations. Students will be treated to giveaways, mascot, and cheer squad performances as well as a Huddle Up Anti Bullying Program assembly at halftime. A limited number of tickets will be held for season ticket members available in early May. "Providing an opportunity for kids to come to an Argos game, perhaps for the first time is a top priority for our organization and that is why it was important to isolate an 11 am preseason game in participation with the school boards.

    Acknowledgments The site of Exhibition Place has had a long tradition as a gathering place. Given its location on the water, these lands would have attracted Indigenous populations before recorded history. We acknowledge that the land occupied by Exhibition Place is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Metis peoples.     Ticket policy Toronto 2018: Track & Field in the 6ix is a ticketed event, therefore, all guests entering Varsity Stadium from Friday, Aug. 10, through Sunday, Aug. 12, must have a ticket. Children two (2) years of age and under do not require a ticket unless they will be occupying a seat. All grandstand seating is reserved for the duration of the Championships. At the time of purchase, each ticket is assigned a specific seat that is clearly identified with a section, row and seat number. Ticket refunds We recommend that you carefully check your order before proceeding with payment; all sales are final – no exchanges or refunds will be accepted following your purchase. In-and-out privileges A strict no re-admission policy will be in effect. Guests exiting the facility during a session will not be permitted to re-enter Varsity Stadium. Box office Tickets for Toronto 2018: Track & Field in the 6ix will be sold at the box office located at the Bloor Street entrance to Varsity Stadium.     The Rotary Club of Calgary Bob Rowe: Hall of Famer story The Club was privileged to welcome Bob Rowe, a Calgarian through and through and a respected oilman in this province over the last forty years. Bob recently produced his first book, "Pappy," the life story of his father, Calgary Stampeder and CFL Hall of Fame great Paul Rowe. The theme of his speech was “The Forgotten Heroes”. The timing could not have been better, as we were transported by Bob from the afterglow of an epic Labour Day 2012 Stampeders’ victory over the Edmonton Eskimos, to a much earlier celebration in 1948 when the team won its first of six Grey Cups with Paul Rowe starring. That year was perhaps the greatest season in Stamps history, when they became the only professional Canadian football team ever to achieve a perfect season with a record of 12–0. They capped the year with a 12-7 Grey Cup victory over the Ottawa Rough Riders at Toronto's The Rotary Club of Varsity Stadium. It was also during that same Grey Cup festival that Calgary fans brought pageantry to the game and turned it into a national celebration, featuring pancake breakfasts Calgary is an organization of on the steps of City Hall and starting the Grey Cup parade. The well-beloved former Lt. professional and community Governor of Alberta, The Honourable Norman Kwong, was another player on that famous th leaders who come together Stamps team. The day of their triumph, November 27 , also happened to be the very same one that Bob Rowe was born.

Further, sustainable initiatives have been offered as a point of differentiation for brands. In order to reap the benefits of such differentiation, managers must communicate the initiatives to relevant stakeholders. The research question guiding the current investigation thus was: What is the communication by Canadian sport stadium operators to calls for sustainable initiatives, specifically in the area of renewable energy? The examination included the 15 sport stadiums that hosted a professional team in Canada and their web-based stadium communications on renewable energy (SCORE). Understandings and competencies in renewable energy are proposed as a new function of sport stadium management; communication of these competencies is seen as a key point of differentiation and best practice.
