Our SACA Village Green on Adelaide Oval No. 2 is the envy of all other Test cricket grounds. The northern mound, scoreboard and simply the name “Adelaide Oval” create a cricket ambiance lost at so many other cricket grounds.

10.0 Future Needs >> Stadium Taskforce - Final Report 119 10.0 Future Needs Requests of the Queensland Government for financial support to develop new or improve existing, large sporting venues and stadiums, are frequent and come from local governments, sporting clubs and bodies, federal government and State agencies, including SQ. The State should consider adopting a stadium decision making framework to guide and inform future investment in major sports facilities and venues. 10.1 Needs Assessment Consideration of State support for major sports facilities should commence with an assessment of the need. This includes an assessment of existing capacity of SQ venues to meet potential demand as well as the likelihood of new content entering the Queensland market. Capacity at SQ Venues The Taskforce assessed each of the SQ venues for unused capacity and any service gaps in the SQ provision of venues. Major Events (T20 World Cup) Repeal Regulation 2020 Major Events (T20 World Cup) Repeal Regulation 2020 Explanatory notes for SL 2020 No. 218 made under the Major Events Act 2014 General Outline Short title Major Events (T20 World Cup) Repeal Regulation 2020 Authorising law Sections 12, 17, 51, 56 and 57 of the Major Events Act 2014 Policy objectives and the reasons for them Australia was selected to host the International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s and Men’s T20 World Cup 2020. As part of the tournament, Queensland was scheduled to host five women’s warm-up matches (15-20 February 2020) at the Allan Border Field and four men’s matches (31 October – 4 November 2020) at the Brisbane Cricket Ground (The Gabba). On 6 December 2019, through the Major Events (T20 World Cup) Regulation 2019 (2019 SL No. 244), Queensland’s T20 matches were declared major events under Section 13 of the Major Events Act 2014 (the Act). Queensland successfully held the Women’s T20 World Cup matches at the Allan Border Field in February 2020. On 20 July 2020, the ICC confirmed that the T20 Men’s matches have been postponed until 2022. While the Women’s T20 events have now occurred, the T20 Men’s matches currently remain declared as major events under Section 13 of the Act. As such, it is necessary to remove the declaration of the T20 Men’s matches as a major event, and remove the application of all regulatory powers that were made available under the Act; by this declaration.
