OFFICIAL PROGRAMME FRIDAY 23 APRIL, 7.05PM Salute to ANZAC FMG STADIUM WAIKATO – 1 – – 1 – Dear Reader, We know that you know we’ve been taking care of Kiwi farmers since the 1930s … but DID YOU ALSO KNOW that we’re pretty big in the security and fuel systems industries too? With over 800 team members on our New Zealand sites (and more than 1000 Security globally), our solutions can be found in over 160 countries. If you’re a farmer then you’ll likely already know how our smart farm systems help you. But DID YOU ALSO KNOW that our world beating security platforms look after students, office workers, nurses, doctors, patients, prison officers, bankers, miners and many, many more, all over the globe. Be it keeping the lights on by protecting the UK’s national power infrastructure, Animal the iron ore flowing in Western Australia or Management providing instant lockdown at Harrisburg District school in South Dakota, our high tech access control takes care of people just about everywhere you can think of. And we even provide fuel dispensers for around 80 per cent of fuel retailers throughout Australasia. To say we’re proudly powered from New Zealand is an understatement. We hope you enjoy today’s game! Fuel The team at Gallagher Systems – 2 – – 3 – COACH COMMENT Kia ora Chiefs Whanau, The Gallagher Chiefs team were ecstatic with the number of supporters who filled the stands at last week’s home game at FMG Stadium Waikato, and hope CLAYTON to hear you all again tonight. MCMILLAN In the spirit of ANZAC Day the coaching staff and Gallagher Chiefs Gallagher Chiefs team had the privilege of having Interim Head Coach an enjoyable dinner at the Hamilton RSA on Monday evening. It was a great night with the RSA’s veterans, patrons and their families. Tonight we will look forward to honouring the men and women who have played their part in history and continue to serve us today. The team were pleased to have won last week as it kept us alive in an extremely tight competition. Small moments are determining the outcome of games and we have been on the right side of the ledger in recent weeks. Conversely the Hurricanes have been really unlucky and are a far more formidable side than what the points table indicates. Tonight is going to be a challenging and tight clash for you to enjoy and we hope you’re entertained once again this evening. – 2 – – 3 – – 4 – – 5 – CEO COMMENT Kia Ora and welcome to FMG Stadium Waikato this evening. This evening we will join together to honour the ANZACs and acknowledge all men and women who have served and continue to serve our country. Last Friday several of our MICHAEL Gallagher Chiefs players joined the Splice Construction Magic COLLINS in the poppy collection for the Hamilton RSA’s Poppy Appeal. Chiefs Rugby Club CEO On Monday evening the Gallagher Chiefs team and coaching group joined local RSA patrons, veterans and their families for dinner. Tonight we welcome the Hamilton RSA’s patrons and veterans. Our ANZAC commemoration activities kick off this evening with poppy collection from the Cadets at the gate, please give generously. Prior to kick-off, both teams will take the field for the reading of The Ode, playing of the Last Post, a moment’s silence, followed by The Reveille before the start of an exciting game against the Hurricanes. While tonight’s game is our last scheduled match for the Sky Super Rugby Aotearoa competition, we hope to see our supporters travel north to Eden Park next week to be a part of history when the Waitomo Chiefs Women take the field against the Blues Women in the Sky Super Rugby Aotearoa double header on Saturday 1 May. For more information on this fixture see www.chiefs.co.nz All the best to the match officials and both teams, we are certain there will be a great contest on display. – 4 – – 5 – KEY STATS SOLIDLY 2021 SEASON AVG STATS OVERALL CHIEFS V HURRICANES (39 GAMES) BACKING 23.7 (4th) Points 22.5 (5th) 16 Wins 21 2.5 (4th) Tries 2.5 (4th) 2 Draws 2 OUR BOYS 79% (2nd) Goal Kicking % 70% (4th) 867 Points 952 114.7 (1st) Carries 92.5 (5th) 22.23 Mean Score 24.41 428.7 (3rd) Metres Made 351.7 (5th) 9.3 (2nd) Clean Breaks 7.5 (4th) CHIEFS AT HOME V HURRICANES (18 GAMES) 24.2 (1st) Defenders Beaten 19.0 (4th) 7.7 (3rd) Offloads 6.5 (5th) 157.0 (1st) Passes 129.7 (5th) 20.3 (2nd) Kicks From Hand 20.0 (4th) 9 Wins 7 117.0 (2nd) Tackles 116.0 (3rd) 2 Draws 2 Summit Homes is proud to support the 18.7 (1st) Missed Tackles 21.7 (4th) 419 Points 361 Gallagher Chiefs as their official home build partner and is working hard to ensure the 86% (2nd) Tackle % 84% (4th) 23.27 Mean Score 20.05 Gallagher Chiefs are able to attract and 11.0 (3rd) Pens Conceded 10.8 (1st) retain the best players each season.
