Lewes District Document Pack THE EAST SUSSEX (LEWES DISTRICT) (TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2004 AMENDMENT ORDER 2005 NO 1 (AMENDMENT NO * ) 201* Statement of Reasons In order to maintain access, to prevent obstruction, to maintain visibility, or to remove double yellow lines where they are no longer needed, it is necessary to propose new or to make changes to existing No Waiting At Any Time restrictions in the following roads: Beach Road Newhaven, Blatchington Road Seaford, Cissbury Avenue Peacehaven, Claremont Road Seaford, Cripps Avenue Peacehaven, First Avenue Newhaven, Fort Road Newhaven, Mount Road Newhaven, Pelham Rise Peacehaven, Second Avenue Newhaven, Sutton Avenue, Peacehaven. In order to maintain access to the bus depot in Beach Close, it is necessary to propose the change of a section of No Waiting 8am-6pm to No Waiting At Any Time in the following road: Beach Road Newhaven. In order to remove section of peak time yellow line and provide more parking space, it is necessary to propose the removal of a section of No Waiting Monday to Friday 7.30am- 8.30am and 2pm-3pm in the following road: Southdown Road Newhaven. In order to introduce new disabled bays, to make existing advisory bays enforceable and to remove bays no longer needed, changes to Disabled Persons Parking Places and adjacent restrictions are proposed in the following road: Chapel Street Newhaven. In order to better utilise existing road space, it is proposed to remove Taxi bays that are no longer needed in the following roads: Blatchington Road Seaford, Longridge Avenue Saltdean. Following requests from the Telscombe Town Council and Seaford residents it is proposed to make changes to the existing Time Limited bays in order to better utilise existing road space in the following roads: Central Avenue Telscombe Cliffs, Claremont Road Seaford. In order to increase the turnover of parking spaces and making it easier for visitors to park, it is proposed to introduce Time Limited bays in the following road: Longridge Avenue Saltdean. In order to improve access for the local bus service Bus Stop Clearways are being proposed (by Public Notice only) in the following roads: Bannings Vale Saltdean, Pelham Rise Peacehaven, Sutton Avenue Peacehaven. In order to improve access for the local bus service Bus Stop Clearway times are being extended (by Public Notice only) in the following road: Sutton Park Road Seaford. Further changes have been proposed which will ratify some of the provisions in the Traffic Regulation Order and which will have no physical change on site. PEACEHAVEN – Cissbury Avenue, Cripps Avenue, Pelham Rise, Sutton Avenue. SEAFORD – Blatchington Road, Church Street, Claremont Road, Place Lane. Changes to Prohibition of Waiting, 8am-6pm on all days in the following road: NEWHAVEN – Beach Road. Removal of Prohibition of Waiting, 7.30am-8.30am and 2pm-3pm Monday to Friday in the following road: NEWHAVEN – Southdown Road. Changes to Time Limited Waiting, 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday inclusive, maximum stay 2 hours, no return within 1 hour in the following roads: SEAFORD – Claremont Road. TELSCOMBE CLIFFS – Central Avenue. The introduction of Time Limited Waiting, 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday inclusive, maximum stay 1 hour, no return within 2 hours in the following road: TELSCOMBE CLIFFS – Central Avenue. The introduction of Time Limited Waiting, 8am to 6pm Monday to Saturday inclusive, maximum stay 1 hour, no return within 1 hour in the following road: SALTDEAN – Longridge Avenue The introduction of Disabled Persons Parking Places in the following road: NEWHAVEN – Chapel Street. Removal of Taxis Only At Any Time in the following road: SALTDEAN – Longridge Avenue. Commencement and citation This Order may be cited as “The East Sussex (Lewes District) (Traffic Regulation) Order 2004 Amendment Order 2005 No 1 (Amendment No x) 201x and shall come into effect on xxxxxx 2. When this Order comes into effect: (a) The East Sussex (Lewes District) (Traffic Regulation) Order 2004 Amendment Order 2005 No.1, as amended, shall have effect except as hereinafter contained. (i) The Interpretation shall be amended as follows: 1. Insert the following definition of “footway” before the definition for “goods”: "footway" has the same meaning as defined in Section 329 (1) of the Highways Act 1980 or any re-enactment or modification thereof from time to time in force.
