Morse Chief Data Strategist U.S. News & World Report 1050 Thomas Jefferson St. NW Washington, DC 20007 email: [email protected] Re: Letter of Law Deans Regarding 2022 Diversity Rankings Dear Mr. Morse: We recently learned that in calculating its diversity rankings, U.S. News is not including students who are of two or more races as “underrepresented minorities.” Excluding these students is simply wrong and unacceptable. These students consider themselves, and are considered by others, to be racially diverse, and they are underrepresented in the legal profession. We urge that U.S. News co rrect this error immediately and before its rankings are published next week. U.S. News made the essential change to include Asian students in calculating diversity.
