TMGCAS 2 2021 - 2022 Graduation Day Graduation Day TMGCAS 4 FOREWORD The TMG College of Arts & Science is a unit of Vinayaka Trust, which is committed to the cause of establishing institutions that provide academic excellence and a higher protocol of human values. The MIET Group of Institutes, which was founded over two decades ago to promote a better life through technological education, is also managed by this trust. The college is situated in a picturesque locale near Tambaram, less than 5 kilometres from the Tambaram Railway Station. The college is well equipped with infrastructure par excellence - spacious classrooms, state of the art laboratories, library, cafeteria, hostels for men and women, indoor and outdoor sports facilities and more - intended to develop the intellectual, physical, creative and moral spirits of our students. TMG College of Arts & Science is a private, unaided and co-educational institution, approved by the Government of Tamil Nadu and affiliated to the University of Madras. (HCM) (Hotel Catering 10 + 2 or Equivalent with any Management) group 11 TMGCAS ONAM CELEBRATION CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION PONGAL CELEBRATION TMGCAS 12 ADMISSION PROCEDURE • Application for a particular course should be made in the prescribed application form, which is available along with the prospectus. • A separate application form should be used for each course which the candidate intends to apply. • Incomplete application form will not be accepted. The form must be filled and submitted to the campus at Manimangalam or at the administrative office of TMG College of Arts & Science, #385, Arcot Road, Kodambakkam, Chennai – 600 024. All details furnished by the candidate in the application form should be accurate with legible handwriting. Enclosure: • Registration Fee of Rs. 200/- by cash or DD. • Higher Secondary Mark Sheet or its equivalent (3 Xerox Copies) • 10th mark sheet. (3 Xerox Copies) • Transfer Certificate from the school last attended. • Conduct Certificate from the Principal / Headmaster of the school last attended. • Community Certificate issued by a competent authority in the case of BC/MBC/SC/ST. • Migration Certificate (for students from other boards) • Five recent passport size photographs. • One copy of parent or guardian photograph. • Eligibility Certificate from the University of Madras (for students from outside Tamilnadu). 13 TMGCAS • Foreign students will be admitted to the college only if he / she holds a regular long term visa issued by the Indian Embassy abroad. They must also submit: • No objection certificate from the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. • Eligibility certificate from the University of Madras, and a valid student visa. • Candidates who satisfy the eligibility criteria will receive interview cards which are valid till the specified date. The receipt of interview card does not guarantee admission. Non attendance of interview on the due date for any reason will not be entertained, including postal delay, insufficient value of stamp affixed or others. • Selected candidates will receive intimation of their selection which is subject to confirmation after a personal interview. The original certificates will be scrutinized at the time of admission. • Selected candidates will submit all the original certificates to the college and it will not be returned till the completion of their course. The candidates are advised to take sufficient Xerox copies of all the certificates before submitting the originals to the college. • Selected candidates should pay the tuition fee, special fees etc immediately. • Request for change of course will not be entertained. No regret card will be sent to those who are not selected. • Admission of the candidate in any course will be provisional will be at their own risk and their admission will be subject to the approval of the University of Madras, Students must satisfy the eligibility criteria for admission. After their completion of admission, if they are found ineligible, the college cannot be held responsible. TMGCAS 14 • Applicants who have passed examinations held by statutory Boards, other than Tamilnadu are advised to ascertain beforehand, to know their eligibility for their admission as per the rules of the University of Madras to a particular course of study. • Admission is subject to verification of marks and certificates by the Director of Govt. Examinations and if any certificate is found to be not genuine, admission is liable for cancellation and criminal action will be taken against the offender. GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS • The Management reserves the rights of admission. In decision of admission, academic programs, extracurricular and co- curricular activities and students discipline, the decision of the management shall be final and binding on all parties concerned. • The Management reserves the right to increase the fees for any course of study at the beginning of the academic year, if necessary. Tuition fee and other fees should be paid on or before the stipulated dates. • At the discretion of the Management, admission may be declined or cancelled at any time during the course. • All admission are made provisionally and are subject to the approval of the University of Madras. • Student requests must be made individually through the proper channel. If any student is found guilty of an act of indiscipline or an attempt to organize a strike, he / she will be dismissed immediately. • Indulgence in activities of Union or Associations based on caste, colour,
