Venkata Man Mohan Possess mining lease for production of Road Metal over an extent of 4.856 Hectares in Sy. No. 504/15, of Inumella Village, Ipur Mandal, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh. (ii) Brief Description of the Nature of the Project. Project is Road Metal Quarry located in an area of 4.856 Ha. Road Metal of 60075 m3/Annum is produced by means of conventional method of opencast mining through drilling, blasting, loading and shifting through dumpers/tippers before crushed. (iii) Need for the Project and its importance to the country. The newly formed Andhra Pradesh state Infrastructure Mission aims for the creation of a well-planned and seamlessly integrated infrastructure within the State. Road Metal is used to lay beds for roads and foundations; used on pathways and ornamental gardens. Smaller stones as well as lower-quality stones can also be used in cement and blacktop applications as it adds strength. (iv) Employment Generation (Direct and Indirect) Due to Project. The direct employment potential of the project is 20 persons. 3. Project Description with Process details (a schematic diagram/ Flow chart showing the project layout, components of the project etc. should be given. The mining will be carriedout in an area of 4.856Ha. Road metal in the quarry area is excavated by conventional method of opencast mining which will be semi-mechanized and on single shift basis. Because of presence of hard and competent rock mass, drilling and blasting will be performed for loosening of the rock mass. The material in the quarry area is excavated by conventional method of opencast mining through drilling. Blasting, loading and shifting through dumpers/tippers before crushed. Mine is operated for 25 days in a month and 250 days in a year. (v) Raw Material/ Consumables Required along with estimated quantity, likely source, marketing area of final product, mode of transport of raw material and finished product. Inumella area is enriched with stone which is hard in nature. Since the hill track is boulder in nature, jointed & fractured, about 90% of the total excavation will be subjected to drilling & blasting for loosening fragmentation for ease in production and remaining is excavated directly by the machine and 100 kg of explosive will be consumed. Powder factor is found to be 6 t/kg of explosive (vi) Resource optimization/ recycling and reuse envisaged in project, if any, should be briefly outlined. None (vii) Availability of water, it’s source, Energy/power requirement and source should be given. Water requirement is 10m3/day (max) and the same is purchased from local sources No Mining activity is involved during night times. (viii) Quantity of wastes to be generated (liquid and solid) and scheme for their management / disposal. No Waste generation from the mine is expected. 4. The nearest railway station is Piduguralla RS at 22.8 km in NNE direction. ii) Land Form, Land use and Land Ownership Total mining lease area is Government land (4.856 Ha). The total quarry lease area of 4.856 Ha comprises of Govt. waste land. There will be a permanent change of land use. The quarrying activity will leave excavated area part of which will be reclaimed by plantation/water reservoir based on the mining depth at conceptual stage The mining is carried out in an area of 4.856 Ha. No Waste generation from the mine is expected.

  • Studies on Lead-Zinc Mineralization in Karempudi Area, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh
STUDIES ON LEAD-ZINC MINERALIZATION IN KAREMPUDI AREA, GUNTUR DISTRICT, ANDHRA PRADESH BY K. KAMESWARA RAO AND C. MAHADEVAN, F.A.Sc. (Department cf Geology, Andhra University, Waltair) Received. July 29, 1960 ABSTRACT The geological formations near Karempudi area in Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh (Lat. 16° 20' and 16° 26'; Long. 79° 38' 40" and 79° 45') consist of slaty shales of Cumbum, Irlakonda quartzites, Kolumnala slates and shales with intercalations of siliceous dolomitic limestones and Sree- sailam quartzites of Krishna Series, forming a perfect conformable sequence, all the formations striking N.E.-S.W. and dipping on average 25° S.E. The Srisailam quartzites are overlaid unconformably by Palnad limestones (Narjis) of Jammalamadugu stage of Kurnool Series with a constant dip of 8-12° in the same direction. The Krishna Series were subjected to local but intense structural dis- turbances resulting in an overfold. Subsequent to the overfolding, lead mineralization has taken place in dolomitic limestones. The lead-zinc minerals of Karempudi consist of Galena, Sphalerite, Jamesonite, Tetra- hedrite as primary minerals, and Anglesite as secondary mineral; there is association of chalcopyrite with Sphalerite. The textures are due to replacement and unmixing (?). The paragenetic sequence of the minerals is established to be sphalerite, chalcopyrite, galena, jamesonite, tetra- hedrite and anglesite. Correlation of field to laboratory studies revealed that the minerals are of hydrothermal (hypogene) origin. The structural and lithological favourability and controlling of the mineralisation are also explained. Anglesite owes its origin to the oxidation of galena due to air-water pro- cesses. The mineralization is surmised to have taken place in Pre-Palnads and Post-Krishna times.
