12 June, Saturday FORT COURAGE FISHING COMPETITION Fort Courage Caravan Park, Renmark Road, Wentworth Fishing competition is held on the second Saturday in every month on the Murray River. Wentworth Angling Club host the fishing competition at Fort Courage Caravan Park. Fishing registrations are taken at the office and the cost is $12 for members & $14 for non-members. The price includes a two course meal on the Saturday night with meat trays and raffles to be won. It's a great night out with family and friends so come along and enjoy the fantastic company. 12 June, Saturday SPORTS AIRCRAFT ANNUAL FLY-IN PUBLIC DAY Wentworth Aerodrome, Old Renmark Road, Wentworth (Just off ) 10am - 5pm Come along and visit the Wentworth Fly-in. After a major upgrade of the Wentworth Aerodrome is now open. Various aircraft, including a Spitfire (replica) will be on display. As well as Joy flights and Recreational aircraft are available including introductory flights for new pilots, all at nominal prices. Vintage cars and motor bikes will also be on display. 26 June, Saturday WENTY FISHING COMP Willow Bend Caravan Park, Darling Street, Wentworth 8am - 3pm The competition runs from the Camp Kitchen. Early birds can start at sun up if they have registered prior to this day. Registrations are from 8am on the day and competition ends at 3pm. All fish must be measured before this time. Fishing can be in the Murray from Dareton to Fort Courage and the Darling up to Pomona. A sausage sizzle & presentations are at 3.30pm along with meat raffles. Merchandise is always made available at each competition. Orders can also be taken. Entry fee is $5 members, $7 non-members. Junior are $2 or free for members. This also puts you in the lucky draw prize to win a $50 voucher. Seniors & Juniors 15 & under. Prizes for the biggest Cod, Perch & Carp in both Seniors & Juniors. Fish are measured by length, not weight and must be legal sizes. A $200 mystery cash prize makes the day even more exciting. Wentworth Pioneer Museum Beverley Street, Wentworth This is an excellent museum supplying the history buff with information on much of Wentworth’s heritage. The Rotary Club has collected over 3,000 artefacts and relics covering all aspects on the history of Wentworth. It houses one of ’s biggest photographic collections on river boats and original buildings in the town. Displayed are replicas and fossils of mega-fauna found at the . Orange World 93 Link Rd, Mourquong NSW Orange World is a working 50-acre citrus property offering educational and informative citrus tours around the pituresque property of avocado trees, numerous citrus varieties and tree grafting areas. During picking season visitors can see pickers at work. In orange blossom time the trees are laden with blossom and the beautiful sweet scent drifts throughout the orchard. Travel on the 70-seat tractor train is undercover, and passengers receive a fruit tasting informative commentary on a wealth of citrus information with a juicy sense of humour. 0428 237 868 Riverboat Rod's Model Paddle Steamer Display Possibly the largest and only collection of its kind in the world, over 30 hand-made replicas hand-crafted with amazing and intricate detail. A life-time of work on display. Riverboat Rod constructs each Paddle steamer as closely as possible to original design. Many boats Rod has built range between 300 and 700 hours. The attention to details is just incredible and some of his models now feature in museums around Australia and at the Council’s office. Entry is a donation which would be very much appreciated to help Rod cover the expense of printing the information pamphlets with detailed descriptions of each steamer, that are also available.
