We remember in our prayers all who are grieving the loss of a loved one at this time and pray that our loving Lord will reach out into the darkness of their sorrow and help them to find comfort in His love through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

We also remember all who have been unwell over the last month, both at home and in hospital. If you know of anyone who is unwell please can you let the Rev’d Kathleen or the Church Wardens know.

Dear Friends,

Summer has officially ended for another year (the wettest one for 100 years!!) and September sees the start of the new school year when children will be starting school for the first time, others will be moving to new classes with different teachers and different things to learn, while others will be moving to a new school where they are no longer the “big fish in the little pond but the little fish in the big pond”. Teachers, too, will have new pupils, maybe new colleagues or head teacher. Everyone filled with excitement tinged with appre- hension. On Wednesday evening the 5th of September a new era will be start- ing for our parishes as I become licensed as Priest in charge of Cor- ris and we welcome the parishioners of Corris, and Ceinws into our group of churches. The service will take place at Holy Trinity Church, Corris at 7pm and all are very welcome to at- tend – if anyone needs a lift, please let me know. Exciting times tinged with apprehension.

You will see as you read further the Bishop’s invitation to the Cathe- dral on September 25th when he will be outlining the proposed changes to parish life in our Diocese. I encourage PCC members from our four churches to attend that meeting, if they possibly can, as they will have a pivotal role to play in these future plans. Other interested parishioners are also welcome to join us. All things new make for exciting times tinged with apprehension.

“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth. The first heaven and the first earth disappeared and the sea vanished. And I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, pre- pared and ready, like a bride to meet her husband. I heard a loud voice speaking from the throne: “Now God’s home is with human beings! He will live with them, and they shall be His people. God, himself, will be with them, and they shall be his people” And the one who sits on the throne said “And now I make all things new” (Reve- lation 21:1-3, 5).

God is with us making all things new if we will just open ourselves to hear what He is saying. I ask you to pray for our children and teachers as they start the new term; for our parishes as we look towards a new era and for all those who are facing new challenges in their lives.

With every blessing to you and yours
