1-Presidents Ram Nath Kovind approved the appointment of the governors for 5 states. Now, Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Bhagat Singh Koshyari will be the new Governor of Maharashtra while former Union Minister Arif Mohammed Khan will the governor of Kerala. Bandaru Dattatraya will be the new Governor of Himachal Pradesh in place of Kalraj Mishra who has been given the charge of Governor of Rajasthan. Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan will be the new Governor of Telangana.

In order to fight the menace of desertification, India, for the first time, is hosting the UN Convention to Combat Desertification or UNCCD from September 2 in Greater Noida.
