Social Programme Trip Advice
Stop and look before crossing the road. Use a crossing where possible
Always be prepared for changes in weather such as rain, sun or snow and take the appropriate clothes
Always go with another person if possible or at least make sure somebody knows where you are going
Carry a map or ensure you have enough battery/data to use Google maps on your phone
Always listen carefully to any information given by the guide about safety and ask anything you didn’t understand
Always make sure you have the Twin emergency contact number and the number of the guide if there is one
Always ask the staff about the food in a restaurant if you have any allergies
Remember that you have to be 18 or over to drink alcohol in the UK and always be sensible if you’re going to drink
Always keep valuables in inside pockets when walking or on public transport
Always know where fire exits are in museums, etc. and pay attention to safety signs or warnings
Always walk in pairs or alone on pavements, not in groups
In an emergency situation (for example, a terrorist attack) – run, hide, tell
This advice should be followed by all students when attending any trip organized by Twin, another company or taken independently
