The data of this study consist of written political speeches conveyed by King Abdullah II during 2002 to 2014. An analysis of his logical and emotional appeals to the audience was studied. It is stated that metaphor as a figures of speech is not only used for decoration to make the speeches attractive to the audience, but used to encourage the audience to have an action and persuade them to adopt specific points of view. The results of the present investigation show that, political speeches use rhetorical technique aiming to convince the audience.
