Re: NOTICE OF INTENTION TO DESIGNATE Wesleyan Methodist Pioneer Cemetery 19015 Centre Street, Mount Albert Town of East Gwillimbury

In the matter of the Ontario Heritage Act, R.S.0. 1990, and in the matter of the lands and premises at the following municipal address, the Town of East Gwillimbury, in the Regional Municipality of York, in the Province of Ontario;

TAKE NOTJCE that the Council of the Corporation of the Town of East Gwillimbury intends to designate the property, including lands and buildings, at the following municipal address as a property of architectural and historical value or interest under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act, R.S.O. 1990.

Wesleyan Methodist Pioneer Cemetery, 19015 Centre Street, Mount Albert

The reasons for designation of this cemetery are both historical and architectural. This site is significant as Lhe burying place for the area's early families and h istorica I personages from the l 850's to 1892. As wel I. the tombstones arc sti 11 in excellent shape and display an unusual variety of grave marker designs frnm the late ! 800's.

Notice of objection to the proposed designation, together with a statement of the reasons for the objection and all relevant facts, may be served on the Municipal Clerk of the Town of East Gwi I limbury before the 8th day of January, 2004.
