Legislative Council Finance Committee Follow-up to the Meeting on 12 October 2018

At the Legislative Council Finance Committee meeting on 12 October 2018, Members requested supplementary information in respect of the item on “Replacement ofRadio Communications System ofthe Food and Environmental Hygiene Department" (FCR(20 18-19)30). The requested information is provided below:

(a) In one shift, each squad of the Hawker Control Teams and Hawker Control Task F orces fields about 8 to 11 members to discharge duties, and each squad member is provided with one portable radio handset. To meet such operational needs, the existing system has a total of 1 316 analogue radio handsets.

The above arrangement will continue after the commissioning of the new digital radio communications system. We plan to procure 1 439 portable radio handsets 1 in total which would replace all the existing ones as well as provide some 10%

(b) The tender exercise in relation to FCR(2018/19)30 will be conducted in accordance with the latest guidelines issued by the to works departments, including the criteria for tender assessment and the relative weightings of 60% and 40% for price and tenderers' Contractors' Performance Rating respectively in tender evaluation.
