Welcome to Grand Forks and the fourteenth annual North Dakota Boys’ and Girls’ Combined State High School Hockey Tournament. We look forward to providing an exciting and memorable experience for all the athletes, coaches and fans. The 1971 North Dakota High School Activities Association Boys’ Hockey State Tournament was played on February 18-20 at the Fargo Coliseum, the first time the state hockey tournament was held outside of Grand Forks. The tournament field was made up of Grand Forks Central, Fargo South, Grafton, Fargo North, Devils Lake, Red River, Park River, and Bottineau. Central extended its state championship streak to 11 by winning the title game 2-0 against Fargo South. 1996 Champions Grand Forks Central

The 1996 North Dakota High School Activities Association Boys’ Hockey State Tournament was played on February 23-24 in Grand Forks. The eight teams that qualified for the tournament were Red River, Grafton- Park River, Fargo North, Jamestown, Grand Forks Central, Minot, Bismarck, and Bismarck Century. Coach Bennett is a bench and 18th year within the Minot High School native of Minot who was a program. In 2015 Coach Bennett helped lead the standout player as well as a Magicians to their 2nd ever state title in his first year Co Coaches captain of both Minot High as co-head coach. John Grubb a 1998 and Minot State University Mr. Bennett is currently in his 14th year of graduate of MHS played hockey teams. Coach Sandvold is in her first year as co-head coach. Coach Sandvold played hockey for Minot High School from 2006- 2012 starting as a seventh grader. During her senior year, she was the leading scorer in the state with 71 points and was runner-up for Senior Athlete of the Year. She went on to play hockey at Minot State University and graduated with her degree in Elementary Education. She obtained her Masters Degree in Education in 2019 from Minot State. She is a fourth grade teacher at Edison Elementary.
