Additional information The Federal Public Service Justice of Belgium notes that in 2016, there is a significant increase in convictions for trafficking. This increase may be related to an actual increase in decisions, but it may also be the result of an increase in false positive trafficking cases due to the increased migration of refugees throughout Europe. However, authorities note that despite the impact on convictions due to increased migration, there is a parallel increase in trafficking which also has caused an increase in decisions.
