Public Weather Bulletin Thursday, 26th February, 2030 Time of Issue: 1530 IST Realised Weather (from 0830 hours IST of yesterday to 0830 hours IST of today) 1. Light to Moderate Rain/Thundershowers observed at most places over Odisha, West Bengal & Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura; at many places over Uttarakhand and Bihar; at a few places over Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh and at isolated places over Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh and Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Isolated heavy rainfall also observed over Odisha. Chief amount of rainfall (more than 1 cm): Bhubaneshwar -8; Jalpaiguri -6; Darjeeling -5; Bhagalpur, Deomali, Ambikapur, Balasore, Paradip, Sambalpur -2 each; Dehradun, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Patna, Malda, canning, Daltangunj, Majbat. Tejpur, Digha, Hirakud, Puri and Keonjhargarh -1 each. 2. H ailstorm observed at isolated places over Uttarakhand & Bihar. Weather System & Forecast 1. Yesterday’s cyclonic circulation over south Bihar now lies over north Bihar and adjoining Sub- Himalayan West Bengal with a trough aloft in middle & upper tropospheric levels. It is very likely to cause Widespread rainfall activity with Isolated thunderstorm, lightning & gust winds (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and northeastern states during next 24 hours and decrease thereafter. 2 . A fresh Western Disturbance likely to affect Western Himalayan Region from 27th February night onwards. Under its influence, an induced cyclonic circulation is likely to form over West Rajasthan & neighbourhood on 28th February. It is very likely to cause moderate fairly widespread to widespread precipitation with isolated thunderstorm accompanied with lightning over western Himalayan region on 28th & 29th February. Scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with isolated thunderstorm accompanied with lightning & gusty winds (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) very likely over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, North Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh during the same period. 3 . Hailstrom very likely over Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Prdesh and north Rajasthan on 28th & 29th February and over Uttarakhand on 29th February. 4. Heavy rain/snow very likely over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan on 28th & 29th February and over Himachal Pradesh on 29th February. Legends: Given in last page.
