SSA Students visit seniors at Passover

On April 4, 2017, Solomon Schechter Academy students sang Passover and other songs for se- niors in our com- munity at Harbor View North and Atria Crossroads Place; the children enjoyed making cards and distributing gift bags provided by the JFEC to the seniors.

Coast Guard Academy cadets, faculty, and staff, as well as mem- bers of the local community and Jewish War Veterans enjoy the Seder in the Officer’s Club. The Seder was organized by 3rd Class cadet Jill Friedman and professor Ian Frommer and led by Jewish Federation of Eastern Connecticut Executive Director Jerry Fischer. The Hagaddah used was The Thirty Minute Seder, and song leading was provided by reitred professor Faye Ringel. 4 THE JEWISH LEADER, APRIL 21, 2017 Allies knew of Holocaust in 1942 UK, US, Russia were aware of millions killed by Nazis, new book says, shedding Eden said in the statement. damning light on refusal to take in intention to exterminate the Jewish people,” refugees or try to halt slaughter said the Allies presumably learned of Nazi Germany’sPlesch, aactions University “when of they London discovered researcher, the By Times of Israel Staff concentration camps, but they made this public Allied forces were aware of the scale of the Ho- locaustRecently some released two years documents earlier than show previously that the commentpowers did in very December little to 1942.” save the Jews. assumed.
