It is my hope that your stay with us is an enjoyable one. The information provided within this package is intended to assist you with planning your trip to the Shoals. Once unloaded, buses should park below the baseball field on Stewart Avenue due to construction and may return to the front of Flowers Hall to pick up their team. Bill Jones Athletic Complex (Soccer): Buses may unload at the bottom of the stairs on Stewart Avenue and should park below the baseball field on Stewart Avenue due to construction and may return to the front of Flowers Hall to pick up their team. Mike D. Lane Baseball Field: Buses are more than welcome to unload at the entrance gate to the baseball field, but then buses must park at the bottom of the stairs on Stewart Avenue. UNA Tennis Complex: Buses may unload and park in Lot Z which is located next to Appleby East and Appleby West, on the corner of Hermitage Drive and Nellie Avenue. Braly Municipal Stadium (Football): Buses will unload behind the East Stands and park on Royal Avenue; UNA Police will be present to assist on game day. UNA Softball Complex: Buses may unload anywhere in the surrounding parking lot throughout, BEWARE OF FOUL BALLS. Locker Rooms: Locker room assignments in Flowers Hall will be posted on the doors. Soccer, basketball, and volleyball locker rooms are also located in Flowers Hall. A representative from UNA will be present to assist you with any questions that might arise. Benches: In Flowers Hall, when facing the score table, the visiting bench will be on the left for basketball and the right for volleyball. At the Bill Jones Athletic Complex (soccer) the visiting bench will be located to the right when looking at the score table. The baseball visiting dugout is on the first base side. The softball visiting dugout is on the third base side. Please note that bench assignments are subject to change. Teams will be notified by Game Ops. Water Coolers: Water, cups and ice will be provided at each bench. Additional ice is available upon request. Towels: Teams are asked to provide their own towels. Interviews All interviews with UNA players and coaches should be scheduled through the Sports Information office. The best time to arrange interviews is in the afternoon on weekdays (when not interfering with athletes’ class schedules). Interviews at the conclusion of all home events will be held after a brief NCAA-prescribed cooling off period. Requests for media credentials must be made 24 hours prior to the scheduled event by contacting the sports information office. Statistics/Services UNA Athletics personnel will oversee statistical work for all home events. Halftime statistics will be available to coaches and visiting sports information directors. Final stat books will be delivered to the head coach or SID following each event. Updated scores, box scores, and cumulative statistics will be available to our next opponent by 10 a.m. the morning following the event. Programs, fact sheets and cumulative statistics will be distributed upon request. Any visiting teams requiring radio must notify the SID seven (7) days in advance of the event. The results of all UNA athletic events are reported to the Decatur Daily, Huntsville Times, Birmingham News, and the Gulf South Conference. The SID should be notified if additional media outlets need to be included on this list. ATHLETIC TRAINING The athletic training team at the University of North Alabama would like to welcome you to Florence, Alabama. The athletic training room is located on the bottom floor of the Flowers Hall Annex building. Our facilities are fully equipped to handle any athletic training needs you or your team may have. The main athletic training room will be open at least one hour before competition. Each team will have access to the following modalities: hydrocollator, ultrasound, electrical stimulation and whirlpool. Treatment tables and taping tables will be available for use. We ask that you provide your team with necessary supplies for taping (tape, ace bandage, etc.). The following items will be provided on your bench: water, cups, injury ice and ice bags. The athletic training facility located at the UNA Softball Complex on Chisholm Road is equipped to handle any pre-game treatments. Each team will have access to the following modalities: hydrocollator, ultrasound and electrical stimulation. Please notify the athletic training staff if you need access to our main athletic training room. An ATC will be present at all home events and will be able to assist if necessary. In the event that you are traveling without an ATC, please notify our staff so that we can make necessary arrangements to cover your team’s needs. Our staff will only provide treatment for pre-existing injuries with the consent and treatment protocol from the visit team’s ATC or physician. You can fax or email your written request.
