Fonville Field • Jackson, Tenn. • Delta State advanced to the title game by shutting down Shepherd’s high-flying offense in a 29-17 waterlogged victory at Parker Field-McCool W, 41-17 • SSN Stadium in the ncAA Semifinals. Defensively, the Statesmen held SU to 69 yards rushing on 34 attempts. For the Statesmen offense, Micah Davis threw three touchdown passes and Trevar Deed rushed for 104 yards and threw his first touchdown pass to help seal the victory. November 27 ............. #6 North Alabama • The Statesmen and Bulldogs, who will meet for the first time on the gridiron Saturday, enter the contest with one national crown each under their ncAA DII 2nd Round • cleveland belts already. It’s the 10th anniversary of Delta State’s magical march to the 2000 title, a 63-34 victory over Bloomsburg. Minnesota-Duluth claimed its championship in 2008 with a 21-14 victory over northwest Missouri State. December 4 ................... #1 Albany State • Senior running back Trevar Deed enters Saturday’s title game needing just 22 yards receiving to become the first 2,000 yard rusher and 2,000 yard receiver in Gulf South conference history. In 37 career games, Deed has scored 44 career touchdowns and ranks as DSU’s all-time scoring leader with 264 points. December 11 ......................#4 Shepherd • Micah Davis is rewriting the Statesmen record book in his first season as a starting quarterback. The Wesson native has completed a school-record 312 passes on 482 attempts for 3,854 yards with 31 touchdowns and 18 interceptions.
