REPORTS P5(6,'(17¶65(3257 I thank all members who have volunteered in any capacity throughout the year. From greens, games, coach, kitchen, house and greeters, you make this sport work. Thank you. You asked for change along with more programs to aide in development of the players and sport. Amongst our BC bowlers are world class instructors. Stephen Forrest talks and walks the game. Stephen has published his 4 step program. Now is the chance to get the books, read and prepare to put the practical lessons at the start of the 2015 season. Dave and Ann Mathie have been involved at high level National and Provincial coaching, provide excellent instruction. John Speers is our coach of club coaches. Make sure you contact Bowls BC to ensure club coaching courses are scheduled in your area during 2015. George Cubiss, Officiating is also a must take course for those wanting to contribute by being an umpire. All those who served on the board the last 5 years has contributed greatly, their expertise, their time, their money, to create what we feel will be the path towards success of the sport. 7KHPDLQLQLWLDWLYHKDVEHHQD6WUDWHJLF3ODQ6WDUWHGE\'DYH0XLUZKR¶VSDVVLRQRIWKHVSRUWZDV shown many times. When Dave left us, Robin Forrest came on as advisor and guided us through the final stages. The plan is always in flux with the basics remaining. How it is administered can change when needs change. Bear with me on the next few examples. I bowled 10 pin for a number of years. I paid $35 to join the association plus $17.50 per night in each league I played in (28 weeks). It was my choice to take programs offered by the 10 pin association, playdowns, coaching. Many members support the NHL and/or CFL, where they spend a good sum of money and what do they get in return? Nothing but enjoyment of the sport. We offer Coaching, Officiating, Rules of the Game, Provincial playdowns, Score cards, Brochures and Advertising. Advertising is new to us. Not that we did not want to advertise, we did not have the resources in the past. The Strategic Plan has Advertising/Promotion high on the list. We started this year by employing Tim 0DVRQWRKHDGWKLVDQGKHKDVGRQHDORWRIµRQ-OLQH¶FRPSXWHUDGYHUWLVLQJ7KLVZLOOEHH[SDQGHGXSRQ and may even be expanded to more traditional media. Clubs may not have the members now to participate fully, yet in the future you may have members that wish to participate and encouragement is needed. &OXESDUWLFLSDWLRQDW$*0¶V",VHHQRUHDVRQZK\ZHFDQ¶WKDYHDWWHQGDQFH%RZOV%&SD\VIRU the trip. Attending meetings keeps everyone informed. Even if information sent to clubs is discarded, meetings bring it front and centre. Page 2 of 42 Al Stirling, Junior chair, has decided it is time to hand that position over to another. I thank Al and know he will continue to support Juniors in the Interior. Carrolle Allen is also stepping aside as Treasurer; again I thank her for coming on when Pat Cutt left last year. Carrole will be missed. She seemed to ask the right questions. +DUU\&DUUXWKHUVZRUNHGZHOOZLWKPHPEHUVDQGFOXEVDV*DPHVFKDLU,¶GOLNHWRWKDQNWKHFOXEV for stepping up and hosting different events. I thank you all for your support and look forward to serving you as Past President the next 2 years. Have a great winter season, see you in the spring.
