A massive well done to Year 7 student Harry Sneddon who took advantage of the fact he couldn’t bring his World Book Day cakes into school because of the snow day and decided to take the opportunity to raise some money for our school library!

Harry’s Grandma had baked a cake and his mum had made cupcakes which, along with Harry’s own ‘Holes’ cake, were taken to work by Harry’s uncle and sold to raise money.

Harry also took his Harry Potter creation to a social night at his local tennis club in order to raise even more money. In total Harry raised £30 for the school library and no cake went to waste!

Congratulations to our Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award participants who completed a very tough three day expedition in the worst possible conditions last week. They had to resort to sleeping in heated pods because of the freezing temperatures but still completed their three day walking challenge in near Arctic conditions!

Every Action Has A Consequence

During assemblies this week we have watched a video entitled ‘Adam's Story’. It discusses how Adam lost his life as a result of being punched on a night out with friends. Following the assembly students were encouraged to consider the implications of such an event and to hopefully examine their own actions and the actions of others in the future. It is a powerful message and was designed to reinforce the very clear expectations we have in school regarding acceptable behaviour. Please see the link to the video below should you wish to watch the video yourself.
